About Cherisse Chaney

Cherisse Chaney (she/her), MS, RD, LDN is a Raleigh/Durham-based dietitian nutritionist with a passion for tailoring nutrition to each person’s individual needs. She specializes in chronic disease management and adult eating disorders, with emphasis on Health At Every Size (HAES), intuitive eating, and above all a non-judgmental approach to care. While earning a Bachelor’s in English from the College of Charleston, Cherisse worked in a busy downtown Charleston restaurant kitchen. Upon graduation in 2011, she knew she wanted to build a career helping others and continue her education, but decided to explore different areas before going back to school. Her varied experiences, from NC State Toxicology lab assistant to long-time veterinary assistant, fueled a deep interest in biology and nutrition. After seeing a family member become a victim of nutrition misinformation, Cherisse discovered her passion for helping people make peace with food and their bodies for a better quality of life. Cherisse earned her Masters of Science in Nutrition from Meredith College. Her dietetic internship included rotations at Duke University Hospital, an eating disorder clinic, and NC State Steps to Health. She enjoys working with teenagers and adults of all ages. When she’s not in the office, Cherisse enjoys curling up with a good book (fantasy, sci-fi, and mysteries), cooking, sudoku, and snuggling with her dog, Lelu Dallas Multipass. She loves to travel when she can, but most days are spent having dinner at home and sitting in the backyard around a fire pit with her partner.
