While her technician was speedy and thorough, I found Dr. Kaufmann's bedside manner to be unacceptable. She barked at her staff repeatedly, did not explain test results in layman terms, and when I questioned her contradicting results, I was told I didn't have to come back. I felt rushed out of the office, and was consistently in a test room with another patient being tested. Tests were not explained before they occurred which was jarring and offsetting. I was chastised for how well I take care of a different illness that affects eye care despite considerably unfortunate circumstances beyond my control. She had zero empathy and no interest in listening to the cause after scolding me. I'm well educated on my own health, and due to aforementioned illness have seen a multitude of doctors (also health insurance changes), and I've never had such a negative appointment.

I had a case of pinky eye. All the personnel in Dr. Kaufmann's office were very friendly and efficient, and Dr. Kaufmann herself knowledgeable and to the point.

Initial appointment was extremely thorough. I had a consult for cataract in both eyes. Left eye was very mature. We scheduled the first surgery for NY Presbyterian Hospital for 5/17. It went well. The right eye was done in same place three weeks later. I was more nervous the second time because I knew what to expect. However, Dr. Kaufmann and the nursing and anesthesiologist instilled great confidence that surgery would go well. It did. I have recommended Dr. Kaufmann to numerous neighbors.

Dr. Kaufmann did a thorough examination and put my mind at ease after describing any future symptoms to watch out for. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 am. When I arrived at 8:30 am the office was not even open yet. Dr. Kaufmann arrived ten minutes later. Once I was finally seen she rushed through the visit insisting on procedures and tests without explaining. When I requested she explain what it is she is about to do to my eyes she responded, "When you graduate from med school I will explain." When I still insisted on her explaining what she was about to do she called her assistant to come in to hold my head into place as I was being uncooperative - continuing to refuse to answer my questions. I will never be returning to this office again and would not suggest to anyone.

It was my first eye exam. I would refer her to anyone. She was very patient with me. I get squeamish when it comes to doctors. Thinking about having someone poke around my eyes really freaked me out. She put me at ease and I felt like I could continue through the appointment.

Follow up to cataract surguzi prompt, with excellent results. Dr. Kaufmann tells you whats wrong, how to fix it, and then does it. Can't ask for better.

Dr. Kaufmann and her staff are all I could have hoped for in a medical practitioner. Dr. Kaufmann has been my ophthalmologist for over 15 years and has always provided the absolute best care and I believe the best advice and treatment during every visit and for every issue. Dr. Kaufmann is someone you should definitely consider visiting.
