My ophthalmologist has retired so I needed a new one. I checked Mt Sinai website and I picked Dr. Gupta because I needed to have annual Retina check as well as other eye problems. Dr. Gupta was wonderful and I would recommend her if anyone has only Retina issues.
However, be careful if you also have other issues. I have seen one ophthalmologist for Retina and also dry eyes, etc, for years but Dr. Gupta doesn’t check other issues and I was told to see separate specialists for each problem. All the doctors in this office are specialized. If you have several problems, you’d better call directly to see the ophthalmologist who can take all the case; otherwise, you end up paying co pay for every single issue.

Wonderful visit, Dr. Gupta is very approachable and always takes the time to explain my condition and how she is monitoring it. She is extremely knowledgable and thorough. I feel I am very good hands under her care and enthusiastically recommend her if someone is in need of a retinal specialist!!

After a long preparation time with technicians which lasted over an hour and a half consultant spent no more than ten minutes with me gave her diagnosis and recommendation of a referral and scurried me out of the examination room giving little or no time for questions or discussion which I had to throw in while she walked me to the reception desk and while there . Just not good enough for the time spent and the cost of this service . Patients should be treated like human beings not like cattle . I’m not impressed with the US health care approach thus far at all .

Dr. Gupta and the entire staff were welcoming, friendly, professional, and helpful. It was one of the most pleasant medical experiences I've ever had. Dr. Gupta answered my questions, and kept me informed about every part of the exam. The technician who did the preliminary tests was excellent as well!

As pleasant as going to the ophthalmologist can be. Dr Gupta was intelligent, thorough, and had a warm bed-side. Her office staff was knowledgeable, kind, and thoughtful. They did a good job following up, scheduling appointments, and sending reminders. Overall I felt good about the care I received and would recommend Dr Gupta to anyone on the UWS looking for an eye doctor.
