I am board certified in Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch, completed my Residency in Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine, and pursued a Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Stanford University. I work with adults, focusing on anxiety/panic, depression, trauma, insomnia, and life phase transitions through psychotherapy and medication management. In my solo private practice, I have the opportunity to work closely with clients, both in-person and virtually. My treatment philosophy centers on trust, compassion, and comprehensiveness as the keys to positive outcomes.
I collaborate with my clients to meet them where they are, with the goal of helping them gain insight and achieve meaningful change. Many clients appreciate my calm demeanor and my willingness to take the time to understand their most significant troubles and worries.
I prioritize clear communication of goals throughout treatment because I believe it is essential for clients to understand their diagnoses, treatment options, and what to expect. I look forward to the opportunity to work together.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I start with a full intake which usually takes 1-2 sessions. After feeling like I have a better understanding, I like to discuss my impressions and recommendations. From there, we may continue to work together with therapy, medications, or both, depending on what we agree would be the best plan.

He asked about my personal problems; we talked about some medications to help me and the very next day I took one pill and two hours later I wasn’t nervous! Dr. Wu called me the morning of my requested appointment to have a quick chat to discuss my goals for care, my concerns and associated fees. After our phone call, I went to his office for our formal appointment and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to get to the office, get parked and get cozy in the waiting area, Dr. Wu was on time and came to get me from the lobby exactly when we were scheduled and brought me back to his office. The office was modern and chic and Dr. Wu had the perfect bedside manner for his specialty. We met for an hour and worked through all my concerns, and I left with a clear plan for my path forward.
