About Dr. Chhatrapal Thakur
Dr. Thakur graduated from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital (affiliated with Weill Medical College of Cornell University and part of New York Presbyterian Health Care) from 1998 to 2001, earning Board certification in Internal Medicine. He then pursued a fellowship in Geriatrics Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn, NY, from 2001 to 2002, obtaining Board certification in the Geriatrics subspecialty.
After training, Dr. Thakur moved to Florida, working as an attending physician in internal medicine and private practice in Lakeland from 2002 to 2004. He then served as a hospitalist at Delray Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center in Delray Beach and Boca Raton from 2004 to 2007. In September 2007, he founded AIM Healthcare, LLC, an independent private practice providing internal medicine and primary care in office settings, hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities across Broward and Palm Beach counties. He currently holds privileges at Broward Health North, North West Medical Center, and Coral Springs Medical Center.
Throughout his career, Dr. Thakur has received awards including Best Intern (1998) at New York Methodist Hospital; Certificate of Professional Attitude and Behavior (1998–1999); Attendance Recognition Award (1999–2000); and Meritorious Research Achievement (1999–2001). He earned the American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award from 2001 to 2004. His research includes abstracts in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society (2002) on predictors of delirium in elderly after hip fracture and in Gerontology (2005) on fiber as an alternative to laxatives in nursing homes. He was honored with the 2005 Circle of Excellence award at Delray Medical Center, among other accolades.

From telling me to cancel my Zocdoc appointment and come in right away, to arguing/yelling at a patient over a copay that escalated to telling him he can’t see the doctor again and shutting the window, to then hearing an over-inflated copay charge for the second patient with a dispute over their assessed charge, to then charging me a copay for an annual physical only when my insurance clearly outlines 100% coverage, rather than argue I called it out, the response from the desk associate was then to ask if I worked for an insurance company, and then told me I could call my insurance after they draft an itemized bill to get a gift card sent to me or a credit for the assessed copay…. This office leaves much to be desired with honest billing, and some level of customer service in patient management.

To be the first time, the doctor was not detailed on examining me, I had to ask him to check my ears? I will never go back, bad service from the doctor to be a primary care physician.
