I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 14 years of combined clinical experience in internal medicine and psychiatry. I am double board-certified in adult and psychiatric mental health practice, providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and medication management for individuals ages six and older with mood, substance use, or eating disorders. I have experience working in hospitals, residential treatment facilities, and outpatient settings, including PHP and IOP programs.
I earned my Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Alabama. She made me jump through hoops. I have a panic disorder. I called to check in a few times to see if she’d received all the various medical records she unreasonably demanded I give her, and got short with me, and denied me care.

30 mins BEFORE my appointment she sent out a text that I was a no show and I will be charged. Called her for miscommunication and went straight to voicemail. I did not even get a chance to see her for my appointment. She does not communicate well, do not recommend.

She pressured me into stopping ADHD treatment even though I specifically sought ADHD treatment and disregarded medical doctor opinions as well as all evidence of objective screening for ADHD and my experience that not taking a stimulant or trying specific non stimulants I was told would help ADHD had never worked in the past. She viewed all screenings prior as invalid and viewed the one medical doctor who thought stopping ADHD medication would fix bipolar as more credible than every other psychiatric provider including another medical doctor who diagnosed me bipolar and continued my ADHD medication while managing my mood disorder. She is just biased against patients with ADHD and won't admit it because she pushed something that had real world impacts on me having symptoms uncontrolled by the medication that worked, and would not adjust other medicines though she admitted they were not right for bipolar. She was really focused on blocking ADHD medication instead of helping with bipolar.

Poor bedside manner, can't help you unless.you provide records, which taking my poor doctors I'm trying to replaces opinion into account is kind of the opposite of what I'm looking for. Also, had to wait 15 minutes to be seen and she didn't contact me to tell me she was running late

the took me 30 mins early which was fantastic (they even called to check if that was ok to do) i just moved to Illinois and didn’t want to change my medications during a crazy time in life and she was wonderful in listening and understanding my needs in a short amount of time. definitely coming back.

She was direct but patient. I had seen a different psychiatrist three weeks prior and was very unsatisfied with how it went; very pleased to have made up for it with a provider that takes my history, present, and future into account before prescribing instead of giving me the option of two of the most common drugs even if they may cause me adverse effects. Highly recommend for someone looking for convenience and accuracy.

Horrible, so unprofessional, 1st visit was ok , then second would not send medication to pharmacy unless I paid my bill. Which I had already done.Then second visit lasted 32 seconds.
However medication is on back order so had to have a different medication sent, about a week later left message that it wasn't working as well.
I received no response for 3 or 4 emails and messages. Finally she called to tell me she did not want to see me again. Horrible and unprofessional. Not sure what kind of doctors office this is because there are hundreds of doctors listed for the same address, seems like a scam to me.

In our first meeting I was expecting for her to ask me to explain my situation and even go into things a bit, but instead I felt rushed as she just asked me a bunch of questions related to family history and yes or no questions regarding my health. This next bit is just a personal thing but as I'm hard of hearing it was a bit complicated to understand what she was asking through the accent but I'm sure in time I'll be able to hear it more clearly.

If you are looking for someone who upon first encounter treats you like a human and not just another number (especially in the medical field during these trying times), you MUST book an appointment with her. She educates, asks questions, LISTENS and asks for personal input in my mental health journey. It has taken years for me to find a right fit, and I never would have thought it would have been here ..... but I am very happy I made this decision .

I would highly recommend her. She took the time to listen and respond to my needs. She was very thorough and made sure she explained everything so I understood how to approach things moving forward. I am dealing with a high level of anxiety and she was able to clearly talk to several different treatment options giving me a choice, but providing her expertise on what she would recommend to best support me. I wish I would have found her much sooner!

Dr. Nwakudu is amazing! I had trouble receiving my online forms, and she worked with me to get them, go through them, and then see me later than my appointment time. From only one appointment, I feel like Dr. Nwakudu is a provider I can trust. Genuine, top-notch care in a telemedicine appointment—not easy to find but truly invaluable.
