She attained her bachelor's degree from the University of Houston in Public Health, then went on and completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southwestern Adventist University. After working as a Registered Nurse for a few years, she decided to attain an advanced degree in nursing. She completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Loyola University. She started her career as a nurse practitioner in neuropsychiatry. In neuropsychiatry, she learned how to diagnose and manage various complex neurological and psychiatric conditions in the adult and geriatric population. She grew to love psychiatry and decided to return to school and complete her post-doctorate as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Texas Tech University. Dr. Chika Ndukwe continued to expand her knowledge and delved into integrative pediatrics. While working in integrative pediatrics, she became knowledgeable about medicine's holistic sector, also known as; integrative medicine or functional medicine. This specialized form of psychiatric medicine takes a deeper look into the underlying cause of diseases, takes more consideration into the whole person, and attempts to facilitate the body's innate healing response. Although she is versed in the traditional treatment methods, she also has a specialized set of knowledge about alternative forms of psychiatric treatment for individuals with a holistic approach. Dr. Chika Ndukwe has experience with the pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. She understands the barriers to accessing quality mental health care and understands the need for quality care that is easily accessible. Dr. Chika Ndukwe is excited to join Southend Psychiatry telemedicine platform to increase access to care and deliver quality mental health services. In her free time, you can find her with her family (husband, two young daughters, and a set of boy/girl twins ), at church, watching movies, and being outdoors. She also enjoys exercising, specifically cross-fit, using the Peloton, and having a night out with her girlfriends.

Read the reviews. I experienced the same. My appointment cancelled and I rebooked. Don’t see the Dr. just an onboarding. Told I would get a call to schedule next day and I don’t get a call I went on and booked the follow up myself. Got a message I was cancelled again. Looked on ZocDoc my time was still available on there.

Even though I had a confirmation of my appointment, I didn't see this provider as I received a text message stating this provider was not accepting new patients. Then, I kept receiving text messages and emails reminding me of my appointment with her which never occurred.

The doctor didn't turn up bcoz SouthEnd Psychiatry clinic told me (when I called them for the meeting link 20 min before that) that Zocdoc doesn't sync with their calendar and after further investigation, informed me that Dr. Ndukwe hasn't been working with them for a while now. That was the same case even in January when I first booked her. They cancelled without intimation even at that time. The point being they didn't even send me a cancellation notification despite sending a confirmation email from their clinic email ID (not Zocdoc's confirmation email), until I called them to get the meeting link. I don't think the problem is with the psychiatrist but with the clinic not updating Zocdoc and their own portal about their psychiatrists' live availability. It's been a harrowing experience every time trying to book a slot for any psychiatrist with the clinic.

Never sent the link for my appointment. I was never seen by anyone and never heard from the doctor’s office. I called several times and no one ever picked up.

She was in attentive. Talked way too much then left for a half hour because her top kept opening. Overall got nothing accomplished at the end.

I had an appointment to which I waited over 45 minutes before I was seen. The doctor was very distracted. There was a lot of background noise and she was even playing music and singing in the background. You can tell someone kept walking into her room to get her attention. It was extremely unprofessional. Although she asked me a lot of relevant questions (some of which she repeated and many of which were already answered in a questionnaire I submitted). Even when she told me she takes a different approach from medicine as a start, and me telling her I have tried to avoid medication for my symptoms, she still ended up trying to recommend me medicine. She told me someone from her office would reach out regarding the rx and a follow up with a therapist from their team. I didn’t hear from them and when I followed up they said they would leave her a message and I never heard from anyone again

She’s very effective and efficient. She definitely knows her craft. But she seems to be overwhelmed, unorganized, spread thin and has a lot going on.

Terrible service. Cannot reach anyone to help. Providers at SouthEnd aren’t interested in helping. They treat like a criminal. They lost my evaluation form and now I can’t receive service because of that.

Dr. Chika created such a comfortable and safe environment even through a video call. She has a very gentle approach and stays level headed in stressful situations. She is the most trustworthy and thoughtful physician that you’ll see for sure. Her attention to detail is astounding and the personal touch that she added to our session was is unmatched.
Verified patientVideo visit
Was knowledgeable and accurate. Suggested both traditional and holistic combinations of treatment. Very helpful and supportive.
Video visit
She is very knowledgeable and because she’s also been a nurse, her approach is very all encompassing, so she wants to treat your body while treating your mental health. I feel comfortable with her especially because she’s a black woman closer to my age, so i feel like im actually listened to in a way i dont have to explain which is great. The office does everything through email and text which i love because as a person with ADHD it’s extremely hard for me to make phone calls. I highly recommend her and southend psych.

My initial visit went really well. It truly seems like the doctor has my best interests in mind. She listened and I felt comfortable the entire time. She was very thorough and I didn’t feel rushed. In addition to medication, she also gave me advice on how diet can effect your mental health and suggested that I also see a therapist. I’m glad that she took all these things into consideration. Great virtual visit. I felt optimistic afterwards.

D. Ndukwe was really knowledgable and invested in my treatment. She was very thorough in going through my medical history to come up with the most effective treatment plan and I felt like she gave me the space I needed to tell her why I came to her in the first place. I immediately felt like I was in good hands and am looking forward to our follow-up appointment.

Had an appt with Dr. Ndukwe on 9/30/2021. Got prescribed medication but my pharmacy needed to clarify something about the script. However, they couldn't get in touch with the office. On 10/18 I emailed the office directly because the pharmacy was unsuccessful reaching them the entire time. I received a response stating they will contact the pharmacy and also call me. Someone did call me and told me I would have my prescription tomorrow. 10/25 I emailed again and told them how extremely unprofessional and concerning this whole ordeal was and didn't even receive a response. Today is 11/15 and I never got my medication and never received any type of follow up or apology. I was left to find another psychiatrist after being given the run around for medication I truly need. God forbid something happened to me because of all of this. Stay away if you need proper care.

Provider was 30 minutes late, asked me a lot of questions without providing explanations for my feelings and was quick to prescribe medication.
Verified patientVideo visit
First it was a zoom meeting, so I wasn't in her office. That said I'm a runner, it took nearly a year for me to open up to my therapist, she has so much patience, I was really struggling to get out what I had to and eventually I was able to get stuff out. Yes, I recommend her, 100%, and now I understand how people could do things I struggled with for a number of reasons.
Verified patientVideo visit
I definitely was feeling very anxious before going into the appointment but she calmed my nerves and just let me speak which I definitely needed. Letting me know different course of actions that she would like to see me take which I'm not fond of but she's there to help not be my friend. So overall I would say I have some things that I need to consider.
