About Dr. Chinenye Okoro
Chinenye Okoro is a doctorally prepared Nurse Practitioner with dual certification in two specialty areas: Family Practice/Primary Care and Psychiatric/Mental Health. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, completed her Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner training at the University of Cincinnati, and earned a Master’s in Family Nursing from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She treats both medical and psychiatric illnesses and is accepting new patients for both specialties.
With over 17 years of experience, she has practiced in varied settings ranging from critical care, emergency room, corrections, to outpatient environments. Licensed to practice in New Jersey and Washington state, she is very personable and quick at establishing strong therapeutic relationships with her patients. She brings to the table a wealth of experience and soft skills such as active listening, empathy, accountability, compassion, integrity, patience, reliability, authenticity, honesty, genuineness, humility, gratitude, grace, and the ability to be fully present in someone else’s struggles.
Her practice is blessed to be a one-stop shop for medical and mental health concerns. Dr. Okoro is a very caring doctor. I am always fulfilled each time I visit the office. She is very patient and professional. She ensures all my medications are called in and follows up whenever there is an issue with insurance approval. She is a great doctor. I am happy she is my doctor.

Dr. Okoro is my mother's primary doctor. I like the way she handles and cares for my mom at each visit. Whenever I call or text her about my mom's health, she responds promptly and makes time available for a visit. She is very caring. She relates with my mother like hers. She is very knowledgeable of her profession I don't regret having her as my mom's doctor.

I felt kind of rushed, and maybe I took Dr. Okoro in a bad way having to wait 15 minutes. I was looking for a diagnosis that was not read off a piece of paper, and more like a dialogue. I had confidence that Dr. Okoro would provide me a dialogue, there just was not enough time, or I did not feel there was time. I guess I'm looking for something very specific and this just was not it.

Dr C is very professional and made me feel comfortable discussing my health issue! Aside from her treating my issue, she also offered other alternatives and programs I could potentially benefit from! I like how friendly and attentive they are there. When I'm meeting with her, she doesn't make me feel I like she is rushing me out and reviews every question I may have. She explains all of my medications to me, including the medications given to me by other specialists. You can feel that she truly cares about your overall health and i think that is important.
