What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe the best mental health care begins with listening. When you work with me, you can expect a warm, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where your concerns are taken seriously and you are actively involved in your care. During our first visit, I will take time to understand your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current medications, lifestyle, stressors, and treatment goals. Together, we will discuss your options and develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, therapeutic support, psychoeducation, and wellness strategies when appropriate. My approach is collaborative and whole-person focused—I want you to understand your treatment, feel comfortable asking questions, and have a voice in every decision. My goal is for you to leave each visit feeling heard, supported, informed, and hopeful about the path forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first visit begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where I take time to understand what brought you to care, your current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, medications, sleep, lifestyle, stressors, relationships, daily functioning, and treatment goals. We then review my clinical impressions and discuss treatment options together. Your individualized plan may include medication management, therapeutic support, psychoeducation, lifestyle and wellness strategies, or appropriate referrals. Follow-up visits focus on your progress, medication effectiveness and tolerability when applicable, changes in symptoms and functioning, and any concerns or questions you may have. Treatment is adjusted collaboratively based on your response and goals. My approach emphasizes shared decision-making, ongoing communication, and whole-person care rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment plan.
