I chose to pursue advancement in women’s healthcare because, growing up in a rural, poverty-stricken area of Virginia, access to quality care was severely limited. As a Certified Nurse Midwife, my goal is to expand options for women, ensuring they have the healthcare choices and support they deserve. Growing up in a poverty-stricken area of Virginia, Annette experienced firsthand the challenges of limited healthcare access, which inspired her to pursue a career in midwifery. Through her work as a CNM, her goal is to expand healthcare options for women and ensure they have the resources and support to meet their unique health needs. Annette holds an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), an Inpatient Obstetric Certification, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and is a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). She began her career as a Labor & Delivery nurse at Clinch Valley Medical Center (CVMC) in Richlands, VA, where she gained extensive experience in providing compassionate and skilled care to women in labor. Her specialties include physiologic birth, labor support, contraception, and adolescent and young adult care. Annette is particularly passionate about supporting women through natural, empowering birth experiences and providing comprehensive care across all stages of their reproductive health. Outside of her professional life, Annette enjoys quilting, machine embroidery, and spending time with her family. Together, they keep honeybees, process, and sell honey, which reflects her commitment to sustainable living and connection to nature. Annette is excited to continue her mission of offering women compassionate, individualized care that helps them take control of their health and well-being
