“This was my first time visiting Dr. Bengston as I just moved to St. Pete. He is very thorough. He took his time reviewing my prior medical history and medications to understand my background. He asked a lot of questions, explained different options for my medications and made some suggestions. I will continue to use Dr. Bengston as my new primary care provider. I highly recommend him. Also, the office staff was very attentive, efficient and friendly. My wait time upon arrival was about 10 minutes. Courtney, his assistant was also very friendly, attentive.”

About Dr. Christian Bengtson
Dr. Christian Bengtson is an empathetic, highly skilled, and attentive family medicine physician with BayCare Medical Group, serving the St. Petersburg area. As a decorated Green Beret in the United States Army, Dr. Bengtson excelled at providing trauma care overseas; a path that would eventually lead to his decision to become a physician. He has extensive experience caring for patients of all ages from various cultural, lifestyle, and socioeconomic backgrounds. His professional interests include chronic disease management, procedures, women’s health (including IUDs and Nexplanons), caring for Latino families, serving veterans, and providing ongoing care across a broad spectrum of common and complex illnesses.
A native of Puerto Rico, Dr. Bengtson is known for his extensive medical knowledge and for taking time during his appointments to actively listen, precisely diagnose, and develop strong partnerships with his patients to provide the highest level of medical care tailored to meet their unique needs. He completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry with honors at the University of South Florida. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and was selected as a National Health Service Corps scholar. Dr. Bengtson completed his residency at one of the oldest family medicine programs in the country at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, where he earned numerous accolades including the American Academy of Family Physicians Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education. He speaks fluent Spanish.

My visit with Dr. Christian Bengtson was excellent. He took all the time needed to review my health history; check all the parameters needed.
He gave me the proper advice and recommendations to take care of some issues. He was sure that I understood well each of them and their reasons.
The orders for the lab and prescriptions for the pharmacy were sent online before I left.
I will recommend Dr Bengtson to all my friends and family members.

To have a doctor actually listen to you and your concerns is a huge deal. He wasn’t trying to rush me out for his next patient.
