Christian Corvisiero, MA

Marriage and Family Therapist
155 N Michigan Ave, Ste. 201, Chicago, IL
Christian Corvisiero is a pre-licensed provider working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. I am becoming a therapist because I am deeply interested in the complexity of human relationships and the emotional bonds people form with one another. So much of who we are is tied to our relationships with others, and I am passionate about helping clients better understand the dynamics that emerge within them. I am especially drawn to couple and family therapy, since many people are expected to navigate their most important relationships without much support or guidance. I believe therapy can be valuable not only in moments of crisis, but also as a proactive space for growth, deeper understanding, and more intentional connection with ourselves and others. I aspire to create a therapeutic space where clients can speak honestly, feel respected, and approach challenging circumstances with greater clarity and emotional groundedness.

Getting to know Christian Corvisiero

Christian Corvisiero is a pre-licensed provider working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. What should a new client know about working with you?

I am interested in working with adult couples and individuals navigating intimate relationships and family concerns. These concerns may include high conflict, infidelity, intimacy difficulties, emotional distance, anxiety within relationships, and family stress. As a gay man, it is meaningful to me to create an affirming space for LGBTQIA+ clients, while also welcoming a broad range of individuals and couples of all identities and relationship structures. I work with both heterosexual and queer clients, and I welcome those in nontraditional relationship structures, including ethical non monogamy, open relationships, and polyamory. My hope is that clients leave our work together feeling more connected, both to themselves and to the people who matter most to them.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is grounded in warmth, curiosity, and self discovery. I want clients to feel safe exploring the parts of themselves and their relationships that may feel confusing, painful, or difficult to name. Through this exploration, I strive to help clients embrace their autonomy and reconsider what meaningful change could look like in their lives. I work from a systemic lens, meaning I do not view people or problems in isolation. Instead, I look at how family history, relationships, culture, identity, and larger systems interact to shape a client's experience. I am particularly interested in helping clients understand themselves more clearly, clarify their needs and values, strengthen communication, and feel more grounded when anxiety, conflict, or life stress begins to take over. I aim to support clients in a therapeutic space that feels thoughtful, honest, and collaborative, one where they always feel like an active participant in their own growth.
