It embodies the vision I had when creating this practice: a place where people can unmask, release the weight of societal pressures, and simply be themselves. As a Black, neurodivergent, male physician, I know firsthand the challenges of navigating life with multiple identities that often come with preconceived notions. This practice was born out of my desire to offer others the same kind of sanctuary that I have often longed for—a place where the focus is on the person, not the labels. My journey began with a medical degree from Meharry Medical College, followed by psychiatric training at Palmetto Health/University of South Carolina in 2010. With years of experience in emergency psychiatric care, providing services to the homeless, and teaching future clinicians, I’ve dedicated my career to helping underserved populations. My treatment philosophy is rooted in collaboration and a whole-person approach—while medication is an important tool, I focus on using the least amount necessary to help patients achieve their personal goals.
