What should a new client know about working with you?
Dr. Amiot strives to provide a supportive, collaborative, and thorough evaluation experience where you feel heard, understood, and respected.
She specializes in comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults, including assessments for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning differences, anxiety, mood concerns, and other cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Every evaluation is individualized and designed to provide diagnostic clarity along with practical recommendations to guide treatment, school or workplace accommodations, and medication management when appropriate.
Her goal is to create a welcoming, neurodiversity-affirming environment where clients and families feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating throughout the evaluation process. She is dedicated to helping each individual better understand their unique strengths and challenges while providing clear recommendations to support long-term success.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The evaluation process typically consists of three appointments. We begin with a virtual intake appointment, during which we discuss your concerns, developmental, medical, educational, and mental health history, as well as your goals for the evaluation.
This is followed by an in-office testing appointment at our Mission Viejo office, where standardized psychological testing is completed. Depending on the referral concerns and the assessment battery, testing typically takes approximately 2–4 hours.
Once the evaluation has been completed, scored, and interpreted, we schedule a virtual feedback session to review the results, discuss any diagnoses, answer your questions, and provide personalized recommendations. You will also receive a comprehensive written report that can be used to guide treatment planning, support school or workplace accommodations, and assist with medication management when appropriate.
Dr. Amiot accepts Cigna, Optum/United Healthcare, TRICARE, and Aetna for psychological evaluation services. Please verify your insurance coverage and any applicable copay, deductible, or out-of-pocket costs prior to scheduling an appointment through Zocdoc.
