Christina Cepeda-Chyr, PA-C

Physician Assistant (OB-GYN)
114 Charlois Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC
There are so many reasons I wanted to become a medical professional. My background shaped this path in a deeply personal way. As a woman of color, a second-generation immigrant, an English as a second language learner and a first-generation college student, I understand how it feels to navigate systems that can feel complicated or unwelcoming. Those experiences influence how I show up for my patients every day. Women's health is such an important field. Women face significant physical changes throughout their lives, including menstruation, pregnancy and menopause. These changes are often influenced by societal pressures and expectations. Anyone who doesn't fit those expectations can feel alienated and discouraged from seeking the care they need. My goal is to help dispel harmful misconceptions and stigma surrounding women's medical care. Everyone deserves to feel safe and comfortable when they walk through our door. At Novant Health, we care deeply about every patient we see. My clinical practice is evidence-based, but my approach starts with listening. I take the time to understand each patient's concerns and then work with them to develop a plan that offers options that fit their priorities, lifestyle and comfort level. Sometimes the answer isn't another test or a new medication but to offer reassurance and a compassionate conversation. Other times, a concern may require a coordinated effort between our ob-gyn team and other specialties, which is something I am glad to facilitate. Whatever the situation, I'm here to help my patients in any way that I can.
