I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I graduated with my associate degree in nursing in 2009. In 2019, I earned my bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio University. I went on to complete my master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Walden University in January 2021 after working as a psychiatric registered nurse since 2009.
Since obtaining my psychiatric nurse practitioner certification, I have been working in community mental health, treating patients of all ages. I am passionate about treating patients with compassion while utilizing evidence-based research and safe practices. I enjoy traveling, baking, movies, swimming, DIY home projects, and spending time with my granddaughter.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Christina believes in providing respectful and compassionate care to her patients. She specializes in assessing and treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, PTSD and other psychiatric issues. Christina is a holistic provider, combining evidence-based medication management with non-pharmacologic approaches such as cognitive behavioral and supportive talk therapies. Christina utilizes therapeutic approaches combined with medication management which is vital for improving positive patient outcomes.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Prior to meeting with Christina, you will complete intake paperwork regarding practice policies and your health history. This information will be reviewed during your initial assessment. In most instances medication will be prescribed following the initial assessment when indicated. Christina will work with you to develop a plan of care that is individualized to incorporate your preferences and develop interventions to help you reach your mental health and overall goals.

I felt like she wanted what was best for me. Even if the original plan was not what I was expecting or the "traditional" method. The suggestion to use medication I didnt consider was a great alternative to Dr's pushint stimulants right away. I know she wants to get me the right plan to healing the best way for my body.

Seemed like she was just reading off a list of questions instead of actually talking to me. Came in with ADHD and wanted to prescribe me an antidepressant. Pretty crazy to me that someone would prescribe a drug that affects your dopamine/ serotonin without really knowing me.

Christina is excellent! It was very reassuring to speak with someone so warm & personable about such a sensitive topic as psychiatric care. She made excellent recommendations in general, including a recommendation for medication that was very well thought out & that we discussed in depth. She specifically addressed concerns I had about certain side effects & recommended a course of treatment to minimize/eliminate risks of those impacts. I felt taken seriously and that she was in my corner, I would absolutely recommend her.

I am fortunate enough to have experience with quite a few psychiatrists through my mental health journey. Having had those experiences, I am quite aware and educated about my mental health diagnoses and needs.
I was frustrated about spending time for the appointment to result in clearly needing to find another practitioner. But my main purpose of this review is to advise not seeing this practitioner - especially if you're an inexperienced/newer patient in the mental health capacity. Personally, I would be concerned that she is too rigid and not knowledgeable enough to provide a reliable and sustainable treatment.

Christina was so friendly, kind, really listened. She even made it a priority to see me when I mixed up my appointment time, she actually spoke to me for only 30 minutes but made sure to get as much information as possible. She was receptive, sympathetic, supportive and prescribed me medication right away.
