About Dr. Christine Hung

In the second grade, I told my parents I would be a pediatrician one day. In college at Stanford University, I studied child development and worked in a nursery school, which reinforced my love of working with young children. In medical school at Case Western Reserve University, I confirmed my desire to work with children in a medical setting. I then went on and completed my residency at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, so that I could gain expertise in child-specific issues in urban environments. Being a pediatrician represents the satisfaction of a lifelong dream. My approach to patient care is to partner with my patients and their families, applying mutual trust and respect. I work with parents to help them decide what is best for their children, rather than impose my own personal beliefs. As the parent of three children of my own, I recognize that there is often more than one way to approach things. It is such a privilege to have a role in my patients’ lives.
