She is the only Dermatologist that actually had a treatment for my keloids to go away and help me with any of my concerns. I definitely recommend her to everyone. About Christine Lam
Christine Lam is a board certified Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology. A native New Yorker, she graduated from the prestigious Stuyvesant High School and then attended the University of Miami on a full academic scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology & Immunology with honors. After returning to NYC, she worked as a dermatology medical assistant followed by her graduate studies at Pace University – Lenox Hill Hospital Physician Assistant program.
She completed the rigorous dermatology fellowship program here at TDS, is a Diplomate Fellow of the SDPA (Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants) and is well trained in evaluating and treating a wide spectrum of dermatologic conditions in patients of all ages, ethnicities, and skin types. Additionally, she is well versed on cosmetic treatments such as neurotoxin (Botox), RF microneedling, PRP injections, and laser treatments. In fact, she is the laser trainer for the practice, sharing her expertise with colleagues to improve patient outcomes together.
Christine Lam believes in providing comprehensive and individualized dermatologic care to every patient, tailoring treatment plans such that they can be realistically incorporated into their lifestyles. A multilingual child of immigrants, she strives to provide culturally sensitive care to patients of all backgrounds. She speaks Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, Taishanese) and Spanish.

I have seen Dr. Christine Lamm in the past as well but just have to say she is amazing. Overall, the experience was subpar, even with an appointment. I expect to wait around 30 minutes before being seen. Moreover, the dermatologist doesn't listen to your concerns well. It feels like they are trying to push you to purchase this and that pills and skin care products rather than explaining the benefits and effects of said pills and products.

It was my first time and everyone was very nice. The Dr is great and I like her. I just wish that the survey was sent after 4-5 visits cause this is how you really know the person. I will not change the Dr at all because she was very good.

This provider doesn’t remove cysts. I was very disappointed with the gel that was prescribed to me to “remove” it or prevent it being that I had this thing for over a year now. I was hoping for it to be surgically removed, but to my thinking she doesn’t have much experience in the field. She didn’t want to take on the job. She injected it instead with some type of medication that doesn’t seem to be working neither to remove it.

I had to undergo a quick surgery to remove a big wart and was very nervous about it but she helped assured me and made it quick and painless.

The consultation is short. They directly prescribed the medications. The explanation of the medications was not clear, and it took me a long time to communicate with the pharmacy to get the medications' information. They said before that my insurance is enough to cover the medications, but all the medications are not covered by the insurance, it's hundreds. The pharmacies they contacted were also very disrespectful.

I feel so BLESSED to have found Dr. Christine Lam. It made my day walking into her office and being seen by her. After years of struggling with hormonal acne and being rushed in and out of office doors by doctors who just wanted to see the next patient and not hear my full story I felt so heard and seen by Dr. Christine Lam! She was PATIENT, listened, empathized and actually looked at my skin throughly. We even discussed a plan for scar removal after the acne cleared up. If you’re reading this doctor, thank you — you don’t know how much what you do and how you do it means to me. See you in 6 weeks!

Dr. Lam handily took care of my steroid injections and has continued the same treatment I was receiving from Dr. Okereke her colleague whom recently left and I feel like i'll most likely be in good care with her and look forward to continuing treatment with her. That being said the billing department, call center and receptionists of Dermatology Specialists' practice are extremely disorganized. There is absolutely no reason as to why after being told by two different receptionist on separate dates, that I was paying for a scalp biopsy I had done months ago, that those payments should have gone towards something other than what I was told they were going towards.
I was told today by the billing dept that they were unable to get into contact with my new insurance (mind you I gave them the info for my new insurance in July which was months ago) and that they had continued to use my old insurance which is why I had a copay(My new insurance does not require a copay). I was never alerted to this and almost had my bill sent to collections because I did not understand why I was being charged due to their lack of organization. Be mindful because you may have issues with their billing department.
Also if you're trying to get a medication refilled at this practice, good luck. I called twice a day for 3 weeks in a row and was unable to have my prescription refilled until I saw my doctor in person again. This is a medication that is time sensitive that could have caused my progress to regress.

She looked at my face for all of five seconds and prescribed a cream for my acne. Then she left. I didn't get to talk to her. The cream took 3 weeks to get.
