Getting to know Dr. Christopher Hannon
Dr. Christopher Hannon is a Board Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He obtained his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Louisville. His training covers mental health treatment across the lifespan including psychopharmacological management of psychiatric conditions and a host of therapeutic modalities. Areas of particular interest include trauma/PTSD, depression/anxiety, substance use disorders, as well as stigma around mental illness and in general.
Having worked in nursing for over 15 years, Dr. Hannon brings a unique perspective to his practice based on the breadth of his experience. He has additional training in EMDR therapy and participates in curriculum development for mental health integration in primary care across professional disciplines with the University of Louisville. Dr. Hannon maintains memberships in Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and the Neuroscience Education Institute.

Dr Hammond was professional and compassionate. He reassured me that my mood would start to improve. He ordered a test to verify which medications would work best for me. Dr reviewed the results with me when they came in. The new medication was explained to me and how to take it and how to taper my current medication. I felt safe and well cared for with Dr. Hammond! I am starting to notice a change in my mood since starting the new medication after 2 weeks. TY Dr. Hammond!!

Recently moved back to NYC, due to the city being a hotzone for Covid-19, I decided to stay with family in NJ. Desperately searched for a doctor locally that I was able to see. I found this practice and am so grateful for being able to have video visits, I love my therapist which is so important when in therapy! My doctor is so kind, understanding and helpful. I am so satisfied that I am choosing not to return to my regular doctor in the city and stay with this practice.

Dr. Hannon and my therapist Salema has been so helpful with medication and different techniques to help manage my mental health. All of the staff has been very pleasant and helpful. It has been a good experience.
