He serves as Chief of Staff at Emory Johns Creek Hospital and Medical Director of the Atlanta Bariatric Center. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Hart is known for his surgical expertise, innovative techniques, and compassionate approach to patient care. An Atlanta native, Dr. Hart graduated from Vanderbilt University, earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama–Birmingham, and completed his surgical residency at the Mayo Clinic, where he served as Chief Resident. Before founding Johns Creek Surgery/Atlanta Bariatrics, he was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Emory University and a founding member of Emory’s bariatric surgery program. Dr. Hart has been named one of America’s Top Surgeons and Atlanta’s Top Doctors. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a recognized Center of Excellence surgeon by the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He also trains and mentors other surgeons in advanced weight loss techniques. In addition to weight loss surgery, Dr. Hart specializes in hernia repair, gallbladder removal, reflux surgery, and other minimally invasive procedures.
