Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry)
NY
Hi, I'm Christta! I am the practice owner and lead psychiatric specialist at Destination Psychiatry, where I am honored to provide high-quality mental health care to residents of both Connecticut and New York. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Western Connecticut State University and am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of nursing experience—13 of which have been dedicated to the field of psychiatry. I bring a comprehensive understanding of mental health and well-being to my practice. My professional background spans both inpatient and outpatient settings, including general, forensic, and addiction psychiatry, as well as experience working with children, adolescents, and providing therapeutic support. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working alongside highly skilled psychiatric providers and clinicians, continually expanding my knowledge of mental health conditions, evaluations, and treatment strategies. Outside of my clinical work, I am deeply committed to my own holistic well-being. I engage in activities such as nature walks, Pilates, journaling, meditation, gardening, experimenting with new recipes, and traveling to new destinations. To ensure that I show up as my best self for my clients, I also prioritize my own therapy, as I believe this is a crucial aspect of maintaining personal and professional wellness. My goal is to provide compassionate, personalized, and comprehensive mental health services to residents of Connecticut and New York, empowering each individual to achieve optimal emotional health and well-being.
