Getting to know Christy Hutchinson
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a deep commitment to delivering exceptional psychiatric care to the residents of Louisiana. Born and raised in South Louisiana, I furthered my education at Nicholls State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2017 and became a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society.
I have broad-ranging experience in both medical and psychiatric nursing across various inpatient and outpatient settings. During my five years of employment and mentorship from a seasoned neuropsychiatrist, I decided to advance my education in psychiatry by obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing Practice degree from Nicholls State University in 2024.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I specialize in medication management with a conservative philosophy-My goal is always for the least amount of medications at the lowest possible effective dosages.

Initial visits must be conducted in person. Follow up appointments may be conducted via telehealth at provider discretion.
At this time, I am unable to provide these specific forms of treatment:
1. Opiate use disorder treatment with Suboxone/Subutex
2. Treatment for Anorexia Nervosa
3. Treatment for individuals under the age of 16.

In collaboration with a psychiatrist, I am committed to providing evidence-based, empathetic, and effective psychiatric treatment. My approach begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, allowing me to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs.

This was my first visit so I was extremely nervous, but Christy was able to put me at ease right away. She was so warm and easy to talk to. I really appreciated her compassion and advice. I finally feel like I have hope that I will be able to work through some of the issues that have been bothering me for years. She is a great listener and seemed to really understand. Talking with Christy felt like talking with a friend and I am really looking forward to our next session. Highly recommend!
