“I was at first not quite sure about how the tele visit was going to go I generally have big issues with these services, however, the system went great! Flawless! Initially speaking my personally issues with someone doesn’t come too easy, after giving NP Claris my background, and I relaxed and released…I didn’t feel rushed, I became very comfortable with NP Claris…she placed me and my anxiety in a very “ comfy zone” sort of speak. When our session was soon to end, I ended with a happy spirit with her advice to “take me time” (self care) for which I will attempt atleast 5 minutes at first and then increase as much me time when needed. Thank you Claris Livingstone, NP appreciate you giving me time…RMW”

Getting to know Claris Livingstone

Originally from the Caribbean, Claris started her nursing career over 30 years ago and is currently a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Claris graduated from Walden University with a Master’s in Nursing, focusing on family medicine studies, and then from Liberty University with her psychiatric studies. Claris has a combined nursing experience spanning from neonatal to geriatric nursing, responding to various levels of urgent and severe medical conditions and stabilization of such conditions. Her current focus is family psychiatry. She firmly believes that mental health is vital at every stage of life. How we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices are essential as social beings. Claris’s approach as a provider centers on an individual plan of care, paying special attention to clients’ needs. She comes from an inpatient background where she has enjoyed working with a wide range of patients, including those with substance abuse, mood and anxiety disorders such as depression, generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, and psychosis spectrum disorders. Her population of interest includes late adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. When not engaged in family time, Claris enjoys learning about various cultures, which fuels her love for traveling. It is through other individuals’ cultures that one learns how to interact, communicate, respect, and most importantly, become empathetic.
