Colleen Donovan, MS

Nutritionist
MI
Hi there! I'm Colleen Donovan, a Certified Nutrition Specialist with a passion for helping others with digestive concerns, mental health challenges, high levels of stress, and chronic health concerns. My goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive, judgment-free space where we can work together to uncover root causes, build sustainable habits, and develop practical strategies that fit your lifestyle. As a neurodivergent individual with an autoimmune disease, I’ve experienced firsthand what it’s like to navigate health when it’s overwhelming and even frightening. I became a nutritionist because I wanted to help others find the support and guidance I once needed myself. While every person's journey is unique, my own experiences with chronic illness have given me a genuine understanding of how challenging it can be to live with ongoing health concerns and how important it is to feel heard. My career in nutrition began in 2020. I have a Master's degree in Personalized Nutrition from the University of Connecticut and completed an internship focused on integrative, trauma-informed nutrition counseling. I also have a background in stress research, including a postbaccalaureate fellowship at NIH. My approach is personalized, and often blends both medical and holistic nutrition. I believe in working alongside clients to identify the unique factors contributing to their health challenges and develop personalized strategies for sustainable progress. In our early sessions, we'll explore the intricate relationships between food, body, and mind. As we work together, you can expect to gain practical skills and tools to support your health, cultivate confidence in your food choices, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself and your body. When it comes to my own interests, I'm an avid artist, bookworm, and outdoor enthusiast – always looking for ways to nurture my creativity and stay grounded in nature.
