This was REFRESHING. my past psychs always go on and on not caring for my story but i was able to tell mine to her and she listened to it all. asked questions. engaged. Validated my emotions. when explaining things she asked if i understood or if i had questions many times, which made me feel so comfortable; like i was able to say anything that came to mind. She's very knowledgeable and cares about what her *client* needs specifically, rather than whatever is most common. she tailors treatment based on your story and needs and i find this really valuable in such an industry. What is your typical process for working with clients?
My passion for mental health was ignited early in my career as a Nurse, with over 18 years of experience in the healthcare field. I'm licensed to provide mental health care in the Tri-State Area New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Great listener. She listened without judgment. She was kind and open minded. I could tell she took her position as a doctor with all seriousness. She took all aspects of my history into consideration. I could tell she's a doctor that cares about her patients. She took me by surprise with how much she cared about my well being and didn't rush my visit. I felt heard and well cared for.

I think this was a great session for the purpose of confirmation. I'd say I was able to step away from this conversation with more confidence in my prior positive beliefs and less on my more negative beliefs. I would recommend Constance Okafor, PMHNP for someone who is overwhelmed and in need of a 3rd voice of reason. She was a nice help.
