Getting to know Corey Kristoffer Gonera
Corey is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a diverse treatment approach that includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and psychopharmacology. He specializes in helping clients with depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, OCD, trauma, stress management, and major life transitions. Corey is deeply committed to working with the LGBTQ+ community. With several years of experience working at an online mental health platform, Corey has developed a robust proficiency in delivering tele-psychiatric services.
He earned his Master of Science in Psychiatric Nursing from Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City, where he completed clinical rotations at Gracie Square Hospital, assisting primary psychiatric providers in an inpatient setting. Corey holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, both from New York University. Corey spent many years providing care as an inpatient nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital in the adult bone marrow transplant unit and at various outpatient facilities within the NYU Langone Health System.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Flow State Psych takes medication management seriously. All state and local databases of your history of controlled substances are reviewed and taken into account in the course of your initial evaluation along with all other prescription and non-prescription medication.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Please be advised, a booked appointment on Zocdoc, is not a confirmed appointment. After booking, a member of the Flow State Psych admin team will contact you to complete a preliminary screening. A preliminary screening must be complete within the 24-48 hours of the appointment.
