Courtney Lee, APRN

Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
LA
I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the owner of Lee Psychiatry, where I provide compassionate, patient centered mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults. My goal is to make high quality psychiatric treatment accessible, affordable, and comfortable for the people and families I serve. I offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing support for a wide range of conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, postpartum concerns, and substance use related conditions. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis, by understanding each patient’s unique story, strengths, and needs. My approach to care is warm, direct, and collaborative. I take time to listen, educate, and ensure patients feel empowered in their treatment decisions. I value clear communication, cultural sensitivity, and a judgment free environment where patients can openly discuss their concerns. Whether someone is navigating long standing mental health challenges or seeking help for the first time, I aim to create a supportive space to foster healing and stability. I am committed to evidence based care and take a thoughtful, conservative approach to prescribing. While I do not prescribe controlled substances in my private practice, I offer effective non controlled treatment options and partner closely with patients to find what works best for them. My practice operates via telehealth, making appointments convenient and accessible for patients across Louisiana. I am passionate about reducing barriers to care and ensuring every patient feels seen, heard, and supported throughout their mental health journey. If you are ready to start or continue your path toward wellness, I would be honored to work with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a compassionate, direct, and collaborative approach to care. I believe in creating a comfortable, judgment free environment where you feel safe to share your concerns openly. I take time to listen, understand your goals, and explain your treatment options in simple, practical language so you always feel informed and in control of your care. Your first appointment will focus on getting to know you, reviewing your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, and discussing what you hope to achieve. Together, we will create a treatment plan that is realistic, individualized, and grounded in evidence based practice. I do not rush appointments, and I encourage questions at any time. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout your mental health journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is structured, supportive, and designed to help you feel comfortable from the very first visit. Your care begins with a comprehensive initial evaluation where we review your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current concerns, and treatment goals. This allows me to understand the full picture and create an individualized plan that fits your needs. After the initial evaluation, we meet regularly for medication management and follow up appointments. During these visits, we monitor your progress, discuss any changes in symptoms, address side effects, and adjust your treatment plan as needed. Follow ups are usually scheduled every 2 to 4 weeks in the beginning, then every 1 to 3 months once you are stable. I practice with a collaborative approach: you are involved in every decision about your care. I explain treatment options clearly, encourage questions, and make sure you understand each step of the process. I also use a conservative, evidence based prescribing style and focus on finding the safest, most effective non controlled medications when appropriate. All appointments are conducted via secure telehealth, offering convenience, privacy, and flexibility for clients across Louisiana. My goal is to provide consistent support, clear communication, and a predictable process that helps you feel confident throughout your mental health treatment.

I strive to make mental health care accessible and affordable. I am in network with Headway supported insurance plans, which include Aetna, Cigna, Optum, United Healthcare, Oxford, and Oscar. If you are using one of these plans, your insurance will be billed directly. For patients who are out of network or prefer to self pay, I offer straightforward, affordable pricing. Initial evaluations are $150 and follow up appointments are $75. Payment is due at the time of service, and I accept major debit and credit cards. I also offer superbills upon request for patients who wish to seek out of network reimbursement. There is a $75 no show or late cancellation fee for appointments not canceled with at least 24 hours' notice. After two missed appointments, ongoing care may need to be reevaluated. For paperwork requests, such as letters or forms, there is a $50 fee, and payment must be submitted before paperwork is completed. My goal is to keep the billing process transparent and simple so you always know what to expect. If you have questions about your coverage or payment options, I am happy to help guide you.
