Getting to know Craig Ward

Hello and welcome! I am a dedicated Physician Assistant serving the Illinois community. My approach to patient care is rooted in empathy, clear communication, and a commitment to discovering the root cause of your health concerns rather than just managing symptoms. I believe in taking the time to listen, investigate, and provide the education necessary to empower you in your healthcare journey. I strive to make complex medical information accessible so we can make informed, collaborative decisions. I look forward to partnering with you to achieve your lasting wellness goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our visits, my primary focus is on comprehensive medication management. I believe in finding the safest and most effective pharmacological tools to help you reach your goals. While I do not provide traditional, intensive psychotherapy, I always incorporate supportive counseling, psycho education, and practical coping strategies in our appointments. Our time together will center on evaluating how your medications are working, making adjustments as needed, and discussing lifestyle factors that impact your overall well-being. My style is collaborative, straightforward, solution-focused, focused on ensuring you feel heard and understood regarding your treatment plan.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I provide comprehensive, personalized care focused on uncovering the root causes of your symptoms—not simply treating them. By looking at the whole picture, including lifestyle, stress, sleep, and environment, we’ll create a sustainable wellness plan that empowers you to build lasting, meaningful health.

I really appreciate the lack of judgement. Mental health can be hard enough without feeling like you have to explain or defend yourself. My provider is very thoughtful about the bigger picture and doesn't treat every problem like it has one simple answer.
I was having a particularly rough time when I first came in and the kindness I received really stood out to me. A kind, patient, and supportive provider.
My provider has a very good way of making difficult conversations feel manageable. I've never felt talked down to. I feel i can bring up literally anything that concerns about medication which gives me peace of mind.

I came here hoping for help with medication, but what I found was a provider who genuinely listens, remembers the details, and treats me with a lot of compassion and patience

I appreciate most is that my provider doesn't immediately jump to changing medications. We talk through what I'm experiencing what's working, and what isn't. I always feel involved in the decision
I appreciate that my provider looks at the whole picture instead of treating one symptom of a time. It makes me feel like my care is personalized rather than one size fits all.
