Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
CA
I believe the best healthcare starts with feeling heard — and that real wellness never separates the mind from the body. As a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I bring a rare combination of primary care and psychiatric expertise to every visit. I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, women's mental health, and men's mental health, with a whole-person approach that considers both your mental and physical health together. What makes my practice different is the ability to look beyond symptoms — including ordering baseline lab work to rule out underlying medical contributors to how you are feeling — so that your care plan is built on a complete picture of your health. I see adult patients (18+) via telehealth and provide care in both English and Spanish. All services are offered on a private-pay basis, with no insurance barriers, no referrals needed, and no prior authorizations — just straightforward, evidence-based care built around you. If you are ready for care that treats you as a whole person, I would be honored to be your provider.

Getting to know Crystaloren Gomez

I believe the best healthcare starts with feeling heard — and that real wellness never separates the mind from the body. What makes my practice different is the ability to look beyond symptoms — including ordering baseline lab work to rule out underlying medical contributors to how you are feeling — so that your care plan is built on a complete picture of your health. What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is collaborative, straightforward, and whole-person focused. I take time during our first visit to understand not just your symptoms, but your lifestyle, history, and goals — because context matters in getting care right. I work with adult patients (18+) experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, women's mental health concerns, and men's mental health including low mood, stress, burnout, and hormonal contributors to mental health. I practice medication management, not talk therapy. If ongoing therapy is part of your care plan, I am happy to coordinate with your existing therapist or provide referrals. As part of a thorough initial evaluation I may recommend baseline lab work through Quest Diagnostics to help rule out any underlying medical contributors to your symptoms. Lab orders are sent electronically, can be completed at any Quest location near you, and are billed directly by Quest to your insurance or paid out of pocket. Visits are via telehealth, so you can connect from home. All services are private-pay — no insurance delays, no prior authorizations, and no barriers to getting started quickly. I offer care in both English and Spanish and welcome patients from all backgrounds. You can expect evidence-based recommendations, clear explanations, and a provider who is genuinely invested in your outcomes.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Every new patient visit starts the same way — I listen first. During our initial evaluation I gather a thorough history including your current concerns, past medical and psychiatric history, medications, lifestyle, and goals. This includes a comprehensive mental health assessment to understand the full picture of what you are experiencing. When clinically appropriate I will recommend baseline lab work through Quest Diagnostics before starting any medication. This helps rule out underlying medical causes for your symptoms — such as thyroid issues, vitamin deficiencies, or hormonal imbalances — that are commonly missed and can directly impact your mental health. Lab orders are sent electronically and results are reviewed at your follow-up visit. From there we build a plan together. I explain my clinical thinking, walk you through your options, and make sure you leave the visit with a clear understanding of next steps — whether that is a new medication, a referral, lab orders, or a follow-up plan. I practice medication management, not talk therapy. If ongoing therapy is part of your care plan I am happy to coordinate with your existing therapist or provide referrals. Follow-up visits focus on how you are responding to treatment, any adjustments needed, and your progress toward your goals. My aim is for every patient to feel informed, respected, and confident in their care plan.
