Getting to know Cynthia Denise Maritato

Hello, I'm Cynthia, a trauma-informed provider with a Master's in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Vanderbilt University. Are you tired of getting little relief from your medication regimen? Do you consistently experience unwanted side effects? Do you need a more convenient way to have your psychotropic medications managed? I am passionate about helping individuals take control of their mental health by providing evidence-based and neuroscience-backed medication management with an integrative approach. I want to help you find the best medication regimen that helps you feel better while minimizing unwanted side effects. I believe that the client has a say in their treatment and should be an active participant in their mental wellness journey. I offer convenient telehealth appointments so that you don't have to rearrange your entire day to get your prescriptions filled. **Please note that I do not prescribe hypnotics (prescription sleeping meds) and I do not prescribe benzodiazepines (i.e., Xanax, Ativan, Valium, Klonopin) as a stand-alone treatment for anxiety. I stay within FDA-recommended dosing for all stimulants.** Limits of Service: I do not provide disability evaluations, worker's compensation evaluations, forensic evaluations, emotional support animal evaluations, or provide legal services or testimony. Should you require legal testimony at some point during our treatment together, you will need to retain an independent forensic psychiatrist.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first session will be a detailed intake where I will get to know you better. I will ask for details about your previous mental health treatments, medical history, trauma history, drug and alcohol history, social history, and review completed pre-assessment screenings. I will want to know what your diet, exercise, and sleep patterns look like because no medication regimen will work effectively if your diet, exercise, and sleep patterns are not aligned with attaining positive mental wellness. We will look at what symptoms you are experiencing and what may be contributing to those symptoms. Together we will formulate a plan for medication adjustments, and the possible addition of nutraceuticals and dietary supplements, as well as, incorporating mindfulness and meditation into your day.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten any specific provider to listen to my needs and my goals for present and future care recovery. She gave me hope and confirmation that it was not “all in my head”. I look forward to working with her more.

Cynthia was amazing and helped me feel so seen, heard, and normal! I am excited to keep working with her and would recommend her to anyone- and this is coming from someone who has be extremely nervous to pursue the psychiatric route again.

I had one of the best experiences with Cynthia. Most doctors don’t seem to listen as well as she did. She believed my concerns about undiagnosed add and didn’t dismiss it as other doctors have in the past. ThankYou for listening! That means more than an arrogant attitude because you have md after your name.
