What should a new client know about working with you?
I respect your autonomy. I provide recommendations much like a menu and guide you through risks and benefits of your choices and then we proceed.
I value collaboration. I highly recommend you sign a release of information for me to coordinate care with other members of your support and treatment team (primary care providers, therapists, pastors, family, etc).
I value your time and mine so I have a pretty strict no show or late cancellation policy. I spend time preparing for your appointment and your time is reserved just for you. I also spend up to 30 minutes with my patients for follow up appointments because I do not want you to feel rushed and dismissed. When you fail to reschedule or cancel, this is a significant loss.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I conduct a thorough evaluation for all major mental health conditions. This may include assessments to complete you can access through my portal.
I will then summarize my understanding, present recommendations and then receive your feedback regarding the recommendations. Then, together, we move forward with your treatment. I am here for you, not the other way around.
