Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
AZ
Welcome! I’m Daisy Pedrosa, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) providing Telehealth Psychiatric care for Adult patients. I earned my degree from Walden University and worked for the past two years at a Crisis unit. My practice focuses on supporting individuals dealing with Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Insomnia, and other Mental Health challenges. With over 30 years of experience in Nursing and a deep commitment to Mental Health care, I bring both clinical expertise and compassionate care to every session. I began my Nursing career in 1993, serving in diverse settings such as the Emergency Department, ICU, Step-Down ICU, Telemetry, Trauma, Oncology, Burn, and Psychiatric units. Since 2015, I have focused exclusively on Psychiatric Nursing, driven by a passion for helping patients navigate with their Mental Health crises and find stability. My goal is to provide accessible and individualized care through Telehealth to Adult Psychiatric patients and those with Substance Use Disorders. Whether you’re seeking support for your Substance use treatment or Mood stabilization, let’s work together toward your recovery and emotional wellness — all from the comfort and privacy of your own space! I often use Guided Imagery, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In your initial session, I will help you explore your goals, chief complaints that brought you to this session, and the triggers of your symptoms. Then we will look back at your thoughts and how it affects your mood and behavior. On the treatment part, I'll help you more on emotional well-being and behavioral recovery.

What should a new client know about working with you?

A new client should know that initially, this Provider is more open to "listening" from the patient to gather "Subjective Data," with open-ended questions. Some "Objective Data" will be asked especially if necessary such as the patient's Vital Signs, Laboratory work-ups, Imaging such as EKG (together with patient's history of Heart-related problems), and other current / past Medical History. Patient's "Diagnosis" may or may not yet be concluded at the initial session. But patient will expect that this Provider will always discuss the "Plans or Interventions" before the end of each session (by considering their Bio-Psycho-Social needs). Upon patient's follow-up, previous Plans / Interventions will be revisited or discussed with the patient to evaluate if they were effective or not.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

This Provider follows a more casual or friendly way of working with her patients. Although she's following a SOAP format (on gathering data, framing their diagnosis and plans / interventions) on typical sessions, she sees to it that the topics being discussed are Patient-centered and with Interventions that are Evidence-based by using both Psychotropics and Talk Therapy, which are more effective if combined (based on research) compared to Psychotropics alone or Talk Therapy alone..
