My name is Damisela Fernandez Cruz, and I am a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 12 years of healthcare experience. I earned my advanced nursing degrees from St. Thomas University and have dedicated my career to helping individuals achieve better mental and emotional well-being.
I understand that seeking help for emotional or mental health concerns can be difficult. Many people spend months or even years struggling in silence before reaching out for support. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and judgment-free environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood.
I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and evidence-based treatment for anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, sleep disturbances, and other mental health concerns. Every treatment plan is individualized because no two people experience life, stress, or healing in the same way.
I believe mental health treatment should be collaborative, empowering, and focused on helping individuals achieve lasting improvement in their quality of life.
Whether you are facing a recent challenge or have been struggling for years, you do not have to navigate it alone. Healing is possible, and seeking support is often the first step toward reclaiming the life you deserve.

What should a new client know about working with you?
Mental health challenges do not always look the way people expect. Sometimes they appear as exhaustion, difficulty concentrating, irritability, sleepless nights, feeling overwhelmed, or simply feeling disconnected from the life you once enjoyed. Many people continue to meet responsibilities, care for others, and wear a smile while quietly carrying burdens that no one else can see.
Life is not always linear. We all experience periods of growth, setbacks, uncertainty, loss, and change. Seeking support during those moments is not a sign of weakness—it is often a sign of courage, resilience, and self-awareness.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I do not believe that a diagnosis defines a person, and I recognize that every individual deserves a treatment plan tailored to their unique needs.
My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to openly discuss what matters most to you. Together, we will work toward greater clarity, emotional wellness, resilience, and meaningful improvement in your quality of life.

Every individual’s journey is different, which is why I begin with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to better understand your symptoms, medical history, life experiences, strengths, and personal goals.
Together, we develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle recommendations, and evidence-based interventions tailored to your unique needs.
I believe mental health care works best when it is collaborative. My goal is to ensure you understand your diagnosis, treatment options, and the reasoning behind clinical decisions so you can feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in your care.
Follow-up appointments focus on monitoring progress, addressing concerns, making treatment adjustments when necessary, and building practical strategies that support long-term emotional wellness and stability.
My approach is compassionate, individualized, and focused on creating meaningful, lasting improvements in your quality of life—not simply reducing symptoms, but helping you feel more like yourself again.

Got blood work done. She went over results without me seeing them myself anywhere. Not very informative about what I had going on. When I finally got to see my results myself, there were other important issues she did not mention that are on the lab results. Not easy to get in contact with.
