Getting to know Dana Leshok

DISCLAIMER: I want you to be well informed regarding insurance billing- I do not accept any form of Medicaid or Medicare plans so please keep that in mind before booking with me. I am a dual certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 12 years of collective experience in the field of medicine. Before entering the field as a clinician, I was a Registered Nurse (RN) for over 15 years. I am dedicated to treating adults ages 18+ experiencing a wide variety of mental health concerns, some of which include, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, sleep/insomnia, panic disorders, substance addiction, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. I completed my Master's Degree in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) at Millersville University in PA and after a decade in Family Medicine, I decided to pursue my post-master's certification in Psychiatry from Liberty University. My greatest asset in medicine is my ability to connect with patients and share bits of my life while getting to know my patients. I believe connection is imperative for the most beneficial patient- provider relationship. I am focused on being compassionate, offering understanding, and building your trust. I am passionate about what I do for my patients in the mental health arena. I am fully confident that I will offer you support, a listening ear, and someone you can trust while on your mental health journey. I admit to experiencing anxiety and depression myself and so I can relate, empathize, and offer evidence-based guidance and medication management if necessary. I am focused on helping you learn coping skills to handle whatever life throws your way— go online to begin working together with me today!

What should a new client know about working with you?

We will meet one another and discuss your concerns and together formulate a plan that works best for you and your lifestyle. I will give you detailed information based on my knowledge and expertise and will involve you in all of the decision-making. This is about you and your growth, and I am here with you along the way!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will meet virtually via Zoom and your intake will consist of a 60-minute appointment where we can get to know one another, discuss your strengths and your challenges, and then formulate a plan that works for you. I will bring to the visit my knowledge and experience to discuss your concerns and offer you an evidence-based approach to psychiatric care. I like to listen first so you feel heard and then we can engage in a plan that works for you.

I've been meetig with Dr Lashok for almost a year, now and I have to say she is such a great listener. She is able to understand what I'm trying to get across even when I can't come up with the right words. She never judges me or tries to read incorrect assumptions into what I say. She listens fully. I'm very grateful I am under her care.
First let me start by saying i m EXTREMELY picky when it comes to my doctors. I will give someone two or three times of seeing me at most before I go to someone else because of the health conditions I have. M first appointment with Dana I KNEW I was going to be sticking with her. She was well versed in my health condition and how overall it could affect me mentally. After that she was able to really listen and treat me and not just treat my symptoms of my overall illness.
Enjoyed my visits with Dana, she talks the talk and walks the walk. She may be the best therapist I have had. Since I have been in therapy for over 40 years, my recommendation is valid. Dana used my DNA to pick the best meds for me. I have gone through trial and error and it is no fun for the user. We worked together to get the best dosage.
Dana is a wonderful practitioner who is very kind and knowledgeable. She is easy to talk to and is very understanding and positive.
After over 25 years of seeing mental health care providers and finding no relief or success with just about every treatment under the sun, I had given up. After a particularly bad month my wife pushed me to meet with Dana, and I'm SO glad she did. Dana immediately understood what no other person ever had and for the first time in my life I've FINALLY found relief. She has single-handedly renewed my hope for the future. She really "gets it" - on almost every level - and has the perfect blend of kindness, empathy, and direct brutal honesty when you need it. She treats the PERSON, not just the condition. I could not possibly recommend her enough, and if you are struggling with any mental health issues I strongly urge you to meet with her.
Dana is always punctual and ready for our visits. She is thorough with care and follows up as needed. She is very caring and helped me find the best course of treatment for my care.
Jus very a year and a half ago I was released by a practice without notice on the grounds of needing a higher level of care. I was determined to find someone to actually HELP me. I found Dana Leshok. I was given an appointment very quickly based on the dire situation I was in. I was on about 5 medications at the time some for decades. Dana didn't diagnose me she listened to me and I felt heard. I felt hope of actual healing was possible for the first time. With the proper diagnosis and motivation to do the interpersonal work that was painful but worth it. I became medication free in 8 months. I know it's not always the case for everyone to come around that quick, but after 25 years of medication, rehabs, jail and institutionalization I had enough. Not one Dr. ever said I could heal or get better until I met Dana. I have found a freedom from all those thing plaguing me physically and mentally. Please don't give up there are people willing to help you heal. Joshua W.
Dana is very personable and down to earth. She is very caring and always listens to my concerns. I feel she has my best interest at heart.
I'd highly recommend Dana. Seeking mental health help can sometimes seem like a monumental task, but Dana has made the process so easy and welcoming. During my visits, she has treated me like another human being, not just another number. I've seen several other providers over the last few years for mental health help, and Dana by far has been the most respectful and friendliest. If you're unsure of what provider to see or have any reservations about seeking help, I'd highly recommend making an appointment with Dana.
She was very helpful. She did a great job treating my mental health. Sad to see her go. I will know longer using thrive works because she is not going to be there anymore I have 100% trust in her treating me.
