Dr. Dana Anderson is a licensed clinical forensic psychologist providing comprehensive clinical diagnostic assessments to ensure accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatment plans. Dr. Anderson serves as a court-appointed forensic psychologist for the California Superior Court – Criminal Division, delivering forensic psychological reports and evaluations to defendants at various stages of the criminal justice process. As a criminal evaluator, she assesses and diagnoses inmates detained in correctional and psychiatric facilities, as well as State Hospitals, to determine competency to stand trial. She is retained by private attorneys and the Public Defender’s office to evaluate sentencing recommendations and Mental Health Diversion cases. In civil litigation and family law, Dr. Anderson is retained by both plaintiff and defendant counsel to provide psychological evaluations that assist the court in legal decisions. She also conducts Disability Evaluations, Veteran’s Evaluations, Fitness for Duty Evaluations, and Workers’ Compensation Evaluations. Dr. Anderson earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Forensic Psychology and Master’s degree in Clinical Forensic Psychology from Alliant International University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from National University and an Associate’s degree from Shasta College. She is licensed as a Psychologist by the California Board of Psychology (PSY33167). Dana Anderson has received three Soroptimist International Awards: The Women’s Opportunity Award, The Ruby Award, and The Doctoral Dissertation Award. Soroptimist International promotes advocacy by improving the quality of life for women and girls worldwide through advancing international understanding, goodwill, and peace.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Are you tired and frustrated with not getting what you want? I am strategic in helping identify and accomplish goals. I will assist you in becoming more self-aware. By being honest and authentic, you will become a better version of yourself, leading to more positive interactions with others and improved relationships for overall increased quality of life. I can work with you to get more of what you want in life-- and less of what you don't want. Self-awareness is important, and a thorough psychological test can help you understand more about yourself and why you do what you do.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer Psychological testing to determine personality disorders and or clinical diagnosis to assist a psychiatrist or prescribing provider with a diagnostic opinion. You can opt for 1-2 sessions for a clinical diagnostic assessment. I will share the results of the clinical diagnosis with your primary care provider to make sure you are getting the right treatment. This is great for people struggling with mood disorders who need a differential diagnosis or may be wondering if they have a personality disorder.
