Dr. Dani Greenfield, PhD

Psychologist
1430 Brdwy, Ste 1510, New York, NY
Hi there - my name is Dani, and I am a postdoctoral clinical psychologist at Bryant West Psychology. I offer psychotherapy to adults of all ages, both in-person and online. I can help with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, complex and acute trauma, relationships of all kinds, self-esteem, and navigating issues related to gender, sexuality, and identity formation. I approach treatment through a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive lens, and am particularly passionate about serving the LGBTQ+/queer community and those who identify as neurodivergent. I understand that deciding to start therapy can often feel heavy and anxiety-inducing, and choosing a therapist can be just as daunting. My hope is to help lighten that burden. If you'd like to explore whether we might be a good fit, please don't hesitate to reach out and I'd be more than happy to set up a first meeting.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach treatment through a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive lens, and strive to create a therapy environment that feels warm and conversational, where you can bring in whatever is on your mind and explore it with non-judgmental curiosity. My grounding in psychodynamic therapy means that I believe our present-day sense of self and ways of relating with others are rooted in our early experiences and relationships, often outside of our awareness. However, rather than purely focusing on your childhood, we can bring these experiences into the present and build insight from the "here and now." From there, we can begin to loosen patterns that may no longer serve you and make space for new possibilities.

More information on payments and coverage

Bryant West Psychology works with most insurance plans (whether in-network or out-of-network) to make the financials easy, hassle-free, and paper-work-free for you. We can bill your insurance for you, and you can pay us any deductibles and co-pays by credit card or through Zelle, as well as the old-fashioned ways, such as check or cash. In-Network: Our clinicians are providers in the following networks: Aetna and its affiliated insurers (Allied Benefit Systems - Aetna, Christian Brothers Services - Aetna, HealthScope - Aetna, Meritain, Nippon, Trustmark ) and student health insurance at NYU, Columbia, New School, Fordham. Your insurance company sets our fees, co-pays, and deductibles, making our services more affordable. We will discuss this with you. Out-of-Network: We bill all insurance companies, such as United Health Care, Oxford, Cigna, Blue Cross/Shield, and Beacon (to name a few). Depending on your plan, your insurance may pay up to 80% of our fees (and sometimes more). We will do our best to work with you to make payment arrangements that won't break the bank—that is, your bank.
