“The real negative was the wait , appointment was scheduled for 10:15 , I waited until 11:00am , I asked the front desk how long before I’d be seen , she asked someone, came back to advise I’d be next , I feel if I hadn’t approached the receptionist my wait would’ve been longer .. I have a personal issue with late appointments, if I scheduled for a certain I expect to be seen no longer than a 10 minute wait ”

Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, Dr. Danica Alexander looks after the locals of Lady Lake, FL. She believes that the field of dermatology is an amalgamation of general medicine, cosmetic treatments, and surgical procedures. She enjoys this diversity that her area of expertise offers, but most of all she enjoys the opportunity to help so many people. In addition to her clinical career, she likes traveling, kayaking, hiking, biking, pilates, and yoga.

I am content with my visit to Water's Edge Dermatology. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. However, the wait to be called in from the waiting room was pretty long - I waited close to an hour and was only called in after enquiring how much longer the wait would be.
Dr. Alexander was very knowledgeable in regards to my concern, was listening to me actively and involved me in deciding the best course of action for my specific case.

I respect that it is a physician’s discretion whether to complete certain medical exemption forms. Unfortunately, my experience during this visit was frustrating. Despite arriving about 20 minutes early, I was not seen until nearly an hour later, roughly 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment, without explanation.
I presented a biopsy-confirmed area of hyperpigmentation on my left forearm, located exactly where sun exposure occurs while driving. I explained that I already use sunscreen and wear long sleeves when possible, but was seeking additional, passive UV protection. While the physician acknowledged the discoloration, she repeatedly stated that my diagnosis “does not exist,” which was confusing and dismissive given the biopsy findings.
Instead of providing a clear medical explanation or stating a policy-based refusal, the interaction felt belittling and left me feeling uncomfortable and unheard. Communication and time management were significant issues during this visit.

Great experience! I hadn’t been to the dermatologist in a few years until this. The catalyst was my wedding in January and just aging in general (prevention etc). I felt heard and understood, she explained what would work and what wouldn’t work and we came to a really great medium. I love when doctors actually collaborate with you on your care at office visits.

The doctor’s bedside manner was very rude about how frustrated I was about my psoriasis. I wanted a suggestion for my condition based on the medications I’ve used in the past as well as how I can improve my condition quicker than before, and Dr. Alexander was not listening to me personally. She was not understanding that I have been using these medications and I wanted something stronger/different in order to fix the problem. Also, I understand she has other patients, but for her to leave in the middle of my conversation with her because she needed to meet other patients and scurry out of the room was unbelievably rude. I was not given the attention and comfort I needed as a patient who’s been dealing with a hard case of scalp psoriasis for the past few months and I would not recommend her to anyone or see her ever again.

Dr. Alexander is exceptional. My visits are unpleasant but she makes them as pleasant as they can be. This is my third visit. Hopefully I won’t need but if I don’t I know I’m in good hands.
