Getting to know Dr. Daniel Daylamani

DISCLAIMER: I do not accept insurance. I am accepting new telepsychiatry, self-pay patients aged 18 years and older in Colorado. I pride myself on providing the highest quality mental health care for my patients and truly feel that it's a privilege to be involved in people's lives in such an intimate way. I take a compassionate, non-judgmental, pragmatic, and holistic approach to treating a range of mental health conditions and strive toward optimizing self-understanding, growth, and well-being in my patients' lives. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio and completed my residency in Psychiatry at the Austin campus. I obtained my BA in Psychology from Columbia University in New York and completed my post-baccalaureate pre-medical studies at Harvard University. I currently live in Colorado but have previously lived and worked in both Texas and Washington State. I enjoy spending time with my wife, daughter, and dog, as well as hiking, trail running, biking, and skiing.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I do not prescribe controlled substances outside of Colorado. At this time, I do not take insurance. I am accepting new telepsychiatry, self-pay patients aged 18 years and older in Colorado, Texas and Washington state. I offer medication management and psychotherapy. Evening and weekend hours are available for an increased fee.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your initial psychiatric evaluation will be a 90 minute appointment to gain a comprehensive understanding of you, your mental health symptoms, and your mental health needs. During this visit we will discuss diagnostic considerations, medication and/or therapy options, goals and treatment planning. Therapy can be useful for a multitude of different purposes including gaining a deeper understanding of one's self, working on coping mechanisms, processing difficult or traumatic events, managing stress, navigating difficult relationships, exploring meaning and purpose in life, discussing existential concerns, and dealing with grief.
