What should a new client know about working with you?

What You Can Expect When Working With Me Choosing a psychiatric provider is an important step, and my goal is to make that experience feel clear, supportive, and effective from the very beginning. I provide care that is thoughtful, collaborative, and tailored to you—not rushed or one-size-fits-all. My style is calm, direct, and attentive. I take time to listen and understand your concerns while also offering clear guidance and practical solutions. You can expect a space where you feel respected and heard, but also supported with structure and clinical expertise. During your initial visit, we will take a comprehensive look at your symptoms, history, and goals. This allows me to develop a treatment plan that is both accurate and realistic for your life. I do not rush to diagnosis or medication. Instead, I take a careful and intentional approach to ensure the plan truly fits you. If medication is appropriate, I prescribe thoughtfully—starting conservatively, explaining options clearly, and monitoring closely. You will always be part of the decision-making process. There is no pressure, only collaboration. In addition to medication management, I incorporate practical strategies and education to help you better understand and manage your mental health. When beneficial, I may recommend therapy or coordinate care with other providers. Follow-up visits focus on tracking progress, making adjustments, and helping you move toward meaningful improvement in your daily life. My goal is not just symptom relief, but helping you function better, think more clearly, and feel more stable over time. I work best with individuals who value a structured, professional, and goal-oriented approach and are ready to actively participate in their care. This is a partnership—one focused on helping you achieve lasting mental wellness and balance.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

What a Typical Session Looks Like. My process is designed to be structured, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. Whether you are coming in for an initial evaluation or a follow-up visit, each session is focused on helping you make meaningful progress. During your first appointment, I will conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, mental health history, medical background, sleep patterns, stressors, and overall functioning. I may ask detailed questions to better understand patterns in mood, anxiety, attention, or behavior. This thorough approach helps ensure accurate diagnosis and safe, effective treatment planning. My diagnostic process is careful and thoughtful. Rather than rushing to conclusions, I look at the full picture—your symptoms, history, and context. In some cases, we may start with a working diagnosis and refine it over time as we gather more information. If medication is appropriate, we will review options together. I take a conservative, evidence-based approach, explaining the benefits, risks, and alternatives so you can make informed decisions. Follow-up sessions are typically more focused. We review your progress, discuss any changes in symptoms, and adjust the treatment plan as needed. These visits are also a space to address challenges, build insight, and reinforce strategies that support your mental health. While my primary role is medication management, I do incorporate elements of supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies into our sessions. For patients who would benefit from more in-depth therapy, I may recommend working with a therapist while we coordinate care. Overall, sessions are goal-oriented, respectful, and interactive—designed to help you feel better, function more effectively, and move toward lasting stability.
