Daniel R. O'Connor, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon who has served the Brooklyn and Queens communities for 30 years. Dr. O'Connor specializes in upper and lower extremity sports and ligament injuries, joint replacement and revision surgery, arthritis, and fractures. He has a comprehensive approach to orthopedic problems and utilizes both surgical and non-surgical modalities. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dr. O'Connor developed a passion for problem-solving and fixing things as a student at Brooklyn Technical High School. He combined that passion with an interest in science and chemistry in college, which led him to decide to become a physician and surgeon.
Dr. O'Connor graduated from Universidad Aut?noma de Ciudad Ju?rez Instituto de Ciencias Biom?dicas Medical School. He completed an internship at Booth Memorial Hospital, followed by a general surgery residency at New York Hospital and Medical Center of Queens. He then completed his four-year orthopedic surgery residency at Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens. His orthopedic training was further enhanced by serving as the Senior Annie C. Kane Fellow in Hip and Knee Reconstruction at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. O'Connor worked as a teaching attending physician at Catholic Medical Center for 15 years, during which time he had the opportunity to share his orthopedic skills and knowledge with a generation of orthopedic surgeons.
Dr. O'Connor is board certified in orthopedic surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, New York State Orthopedic Society, Brooklyn Orthopedic Society, and the Medical Society of the State of New York. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

My experience here was fantastic!
Everyone was really helpful and kind in the office and Dr.O’Connor explained everything during my visit. He explained the options I had for my cyst, the procedure I ended up choosing, and all the questions I had afterwards. The surgery coordinator, Marta, was also very informative, patient, and really helpful about all the paperwork I brought in from my job, and all the questions I had as well.
Everyone here was helpful, patient, kind, and I recommend them highly!

My doctor’s office was closed so I decided to make my appointment on zocdoc. It was extremely easy to navigate the site and I was able to see at a glance openings in my doctor’s schedule. I made my appointment and just called a few days later to confirm that it was received. Dr. O’Connor and his staff are all wonderful. Everyone at this office is courteous and welcoming. Dr. O’Connor is the best. He listens attentively and explains everything clearly. You won’t find a more caring office than this one.

I liked the people, but the wait to be called was incredibly long. The staff kept talking about lunch, when I finally arrived in my private room to wait for the doctor.. people coming in and out of my room asking about lunch. everyone was very hungry I guess and the staff pretty much all left at once except for the doctors themselves and the x ray guy. the doctor even pointed it out to me and said "wow they all just disappear at lunch" so it took an extra hour or so beyond the wait time to be seen and get the x ray and such. Basically if i go back, I won't book a time anywhere near lunch time. i will go in the morning!
