Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
NJ
*After booking, you will receive a link via IntakeQ so you can complete required intake forms prior to your appointment* I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. I provide telehealth medication management, psychiatric evaluations, and therapy. My clinical experience includes treating individuals with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and acute stress. I believe that while medication can be life-changing and life-saving, it is only one piece of treatment. My approach emphasizes whole-person care, which means looking at biological, psychological, and social factors that shape well-being. Alongside my nursing training, I completed a 200-hour yoga teacher certification and bring mindfulness and meditation into treatment when it supports a patient’s goals, especially for anxiety and focus. I am also trained in nurse coaching, which uses goal setting, motivational interviewing, and wellness strategies to support people navigating health challenges or pursuing health goals. Additionally, I have received advanced training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps patients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which teaches skills for regulating emotions, tolerating distress, and enhancing relationship effectiveness. What drew me to this work is the belief that care should be supportive, collaborative, and empowering. I am passionate about helping patients feel safe, heard, and informed in every decision they make about their treatment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When we work together, you can expect a supportive and collaborative environment where your goals guide treatment. I take time to understand what you are going through and to consider every aspect of your health, your biology, your life experiences, and your current circumstances. Sometimes this may mean exploring medication, but other times it may mean focusing on therapy or lifestyle strategies. We will decide together what is right for you. My style is warm, practical, and grounded in science. I believe in educating patients so they can make informed decisions and feel empowered in their care. Sessions often include discussions of coping strategies, stress management, mindfulness techniques, and lifestyle changes, such as sleep, nutrition, and physical activity. I want patients to feel comfortable bringing their full selves into the room. I am most passionate about integrating therapy and wellness into care, regardless of whether medication is part of the plan. I believe people do best when treatment not only reduces symptoms but also supports their values, relationships, and long-term goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical first session involves listening to your concerns, asking questions about your medical and mental health history, and learning about your goals for care. We discuss whether medication, therapy, or a combination might be helpful, and I explain every step so you feel informed and comfortable moving forward. Sessions may include CBT strategies for shifting negative thought patterns, DBT skills for managing strong emotions, or mindfulness practices for grounding and focus. Nurse coaching elements, like motivational interviewing and goal setting, are often incorporated when health and wellness goals are part of treatment. Regardless of the format, each session is a safe space where we focus on both immediate relief and long-term growth. My goal is to support you in developing tools, resilience, and clarity so that you can thrive beyond our sessions. Outside of work, I value balance and connection in my own life. My self-care can look like listening to music, going for walks, practicing yoga or meditation, or catching up with a friend. At night, I enjoy unwinding with a good book or show, a cup of tea, and the company of my cats.
