Getting to know Danielle Strahan
Before starting my career in psychiatry, I spent six years working as a pediatric ICU nurse in Queens. During that time, I had the privilege of caring for patients and supporting families from all walks of life as they faced some of the toughest moments imaginable. These experiences have given me a special lens through which to view mental health. Life can be incredibly hard, and everyone is doing their best to navigate their own individual experiences. I am here to help however I can, offering care and support along the way.
While I loved the medical aspects of nursing, I learned that mental health is one of the most important parts of a person’s overall well-being. I earned my Master’s in Nursing from Molloy University, which helped me transition into my role as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I still hold a special place in my heart for pediatrics and adolescents, but in my career, I have truly enjoyed caring for clients across a wide range of ages, from children as young as 5 to adults in their late 70s.
I have worked with patients facing school and social anxiety, mood disorders, depression, grief and loss, OCD, personality disorders, ADHD, and more. I specialize in helping children and adults manage mood disorders, supporting individuals through major life changes, and assisting those dealing with depression, low energy, general anxiety, and social anxiety. I also work with clients facing challenges related to ADHD, panic attacks, and other mental health concerns. Additionally, I have experience helping clients with personality disorders develop healthy behaviors, enabling them to feel more comfortable and confident in themselves.
I love partnering with my patients to create a treatment plan that fits their personal needs. Whether that involves medication or focuses on other important areas like improving diet, sleep, and exercise, my goal is to empower each person to take control of their mental health journey.

Danielle is AWESOME! It was our first visit but I can usually tell right away if someone or something is a good fit. I feel very comfortable sharing everything about myself and my past to her. She’s very supportive and well informed and helps keep me on track during my occasional rants lol. Overall, great experience and would recommend SOL and Danielle Strahan specifically to every and anyone in need. Yes, this is a real review and No, no one paid me to said these things!! :)
