Getting to know Danielle Wilson
Originally from Jamaica and currently residing in west central Florida, I am a dual Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with over 12 years of experience in healthcare. My background includes work as a Registered Nurse in Emergency Room, Trauma, and Intensive Care settings, as well as roles in addiction medicine, primary care, urgent care, community health, infectious disease, psychiatry/behavioral health, and pediatrics, among other subspecialties as a nurse practitioner.
I discovered my passion for mental health during my work in emergency departments nationwide, as a community health nurse practitioner serving the homeless community in South Florida, and as a pediatric urgent care nurse practitioner treating unaccompanied minors in Texas. These experiences revealed the significant presence of individuals with unaddressed trauma and mental health conditions, often due to stigma and limited access to treatment. Motivated to deepen my expertise, I earned a Master’s in Family Nursing from Chamberlain University and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Herzing University.
I understand that challenges with mental health can profoundly impact physical health, well-being, and relationships with loved ones, leading to significant impairments in all areas of life. This is why I firmly believe that comprehensive access to psychiatry and mental health care is essential to help you achieve optimal health and stability, empowering you to regain control of your life.
What should a new client know about working with you?
"I provide a safe space for healing and growth and help clients develop positive attitudes and motivation to overcome the challenges being experienced in their lives. I also empower my clients with tools to help manage their stressors and their triggers. After completing a comprehensive mental health assessment on the first visit, I collaborate with my clients to formulate a plan based on their concerns and personal goals. I educate my clients on the alternatives to medication as well as the types of medications, how they work, dosages, and possible side effects. "

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
