Everyone in the office that i came in contact with was pleasant and helpful.
I love Dr. McNulty. I have referred two of my friends to her office because I always feel like she listens and takes what I need into account.
Dr truly cares about her patients. Listens to every detail and comes up with a solution. I am very pleased with her expertise.
She is very understanding, listens to your problems and prescribes accordingly.
I was a little nervous going into this appointment based off a lot of the reviews saying Dr McNulty was standoffish, and seemed to be unconcerned etc, but my visit was far from that! Dr McNulty was really kind and seemed to care to get to the root of the problem and welcomed me with open arms. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!
Staff was great. She was not very good and seemed totally uninterested in what I was there for. Also, I was charged for a 30 minute evaluation, but I only spoke to her for 8 minutes... tops.
Dr. McNulty is a bit cold, she's obviously been in the game for a long time, but that means she's also very efficient. I wouldn't recommend her if you want to talk through your problems or get a lot of compassion, but if you need a straight-to-the-point, no-nonsense appointment, I highly recommend her. Fortunately that's exactly what I needed, so I found Dr. McNulty to be very understanding about what I needed and wanted, and she worked with me quickly to address my issues.
The doctor was incredibly inconsiderate with time. Came in an hour late to work due to "traffic" (the rest of the staff and several other patients were there on time). Did not acknowledge or apologize for lateness. Spent about ten minutes asking me basic questions then wrote a prescription. One good thing is that the office is very accessible by MARTA, less than a five minute walk from the Medical Center Station. Maybe Dr. McNulty should consider taking MARTA.
Same as usual. Dr. McNulty and the staff at GA Behavioral Health are great, and very prompt in individual interactions; but actual wait times skew a little long.
I've had a lot of problems getting someone on the phone to make an appointment. Luckily I could make the appointment online through Zocdoc so I could be seen! Other than that, this is a great office. Yesterday one of the staff even called my insurance company before I left so I could get the full benefits. I just recently got new insurance and had no idea my copay was even less than it was before! I was very impressed that the staff member cared enough to take the time to do that for me. As for Dr. McNulty, well, I've seen quite a few psychiatrists in my life, and she is by far the best. She is not a pill pusher, and she always remembers who I am and what I'm doing when I come in to see her- even if it's been 6 months! Highly recommended.
She is so professional yet down to earth. I really click with her and have referred her to my son.
Dr. McNulty asked relevant questions, took notes on the computer, and established a plan for the future. She was interested in my problems and definitely met my expectations as a health professional.
The visit was good but I always have to wait over an hour when I come to see her it is very frustrating because I take time out of my day to come here every time. I come here early and I think it is very unprofessional.
I really like going to see her. She is very understanding.
She's great- reads and responds to my verbal and nonverbal queues. Her office is efficient and never an extensive wait.
Quick and to the point
She's very sweet. Quiet at first, but to be expected at an initial visit where she's taking lots of notes, but once we got to talking, she was very kind and has a great sense of humor!
She is a very good Doctor.
Dr. McNulty was friendly and pleasant. She was very helpful and provided us with more alternatives than I had anticipated for me and my son.
It was very good
They DID NOT bother to tell me they didn't accept my insurance until I was there and waited over an hour. I will NEVER recommend anyone to her office. Poor communication on their part.
Nice, professional, relaxed atmosphere!
I hadn't seen her in over a year and she remembered everything we had discussed before. She actually let me talk, and we figured out together the best plan of action for my post partum anxiety
This was a very direct visit. She asked a series of question, I gave answers. She knew immediately what medication to prescribe. She answered all my question to my satisfaction. Not warm & fuzzy, but nice and to the point. I go to the psychologist for fuzzy.
Doctor McNulty is thorough and to the point. I appreciate her feedback and the prompt attention and treatment each visit.
I did not feel she was genuinely interested in my issues. There was limited feedback from her. As a professional, I expected to receive more insight to my problems.
Darlene has been late to my appointment 3x in a row, and I am always her first appointment of the day. She is not sympathetic and tends to come off as very rude and short to me. I don't feel like her values her client relationships. If you are looking for someone who is more personable and will take time getting to know you, THIS IS NOT HER. Go Elsewhere.
Dr. McNulty is a very nice and a cordial professional. Remember folks, she's not a Psychologist, so sh'es not one to provide 2-hr long psychological assesments. Aside from my first appointment, my wait time has always been under 15 minutes. I highly recommend her to anyone whom is looking.
Terrible, terrible, terrible. Please do not visit this doctor or anyone in this office. This is the most uncaring and disorganized doctor's office I've ever experienced. Firstly Dr McNulty didn't even know how Wellbutrin, a common anti-depression medication works . . . She said "It has something to do with Dopamine" . . . Seriously? So I figured, okay I'll just google it... But then she forgot to call in the second medication we discussed, a sleep aid. . . We are all human, okay, I can accept she made a mistake, but then when I called in the office said she was on vacation and there was no way to get in touch with her. REALLY? No way to get in touch with a Psychiatrist who administers controlled substance, mind-altering drugs for a variety of disorders, some extreme? Okay so I asked for another Doctor to call me back. I received a lot of attitude but was told someone would call me back. Nope. . . I called 6 more times and noone called me back. I left an email on their website, nothing. Finally, almost a month later (keep in mind I did not have my sleep aid this ENTIRE TIME) after my 7th call Dr McNulty called me back and left a message. After 8 interactions explaining how I was missing one of my 2 prescriptions, she STILL did not understand I was missing the second prescription. I called back for the 8th time and explained AGAIN. Dr McNulty called me again after several hours and I explained that "hey there was a mistake, that's okay, but calling/emailing 9 times over a month just to get a call back and still no awareness of the issue I was having is unacceptable. I was very polite and legitimately trying to let her know about the communication problem in her office thinking she'd actually care . . . Nope. She was rude, defensive, insinuated I had not asked for the second prescription (really? I went there for 2 prescriptions, I think I would know!) and that I was lying about the fact that I had called because "there were no notes in the system" . . . That's the POINT here . . . Noone is taking notes, relaying messages, and noone cares. . . So, if you want a Doctor that cares, who is accountable, who runs an organized office, and doesn't forget your prescriptions and the entire conversation you have with them, DON'T USE THIS OFFICE. YOU DESERVE BETTER.
She was great. Very professional.
Dr McNulty was great. She listened, asked questions and recommended a treatment and explained why she thought it was the right one. I left feeling pretty good. Quick in and out as expected, after all she is a psychiatrist, not a psychologist. If you're looking for an hour session and therapy, she is not the kind of doctor you're looking for. That being said, the wait was ridiculous. The 9:15 appointment wasn't seen til after 10:30. My appointment was at 9:30 and I didn't get seen til just shy of 11.
This office is more of a prescription service than real therapy. My daughter and I were seen together and Dr. McNulty's only service was to ask me what prescriptions I wanted for my daughter and I. With very little input of her own, I felt like our therapy was flat out put into my own hands. I would've thought a real psychiatrist with real world experience and clinical knowledge would have more expertise to offer. Very disappointing and unhelpful. On top of that, they charge a lot for paperwork that should be completed as a part of their practice and not looked at as extra, such as prior authorizations for prescriptions, obtaining records, and filling out forms for various needs. I am a medical health professional myself, and in my opinion, this office gouges it's patients and uses drugs as it's only offering.
Really appreciated her thoughtful questions about why I was there and her willingness to help me address an issue that has been an ongoing problem for many years. Thank you Dr. McNulty!
Good experience. Very professional. Very likable. Thank you
Great Doctor, but be sure to understand that she does not do talk therapy, she is a doctor for medications.
She was extremely professional and I actually felt she was listening to me and not just quick to write a prescription. I am very happy about my first appointment and look forward to many more with her.
I needed a new prescription. Dr. McNulty understood the issues with prior medication and made a new recommendation. Good!
She was through and knew her information on medications which is why I came to see her.
My visit went very well with Dr. McNulty. She was very nice and listened to, without cutting me off at all, when I was explaining my reason for being there. She gave specific reasons when suggesting medication and saying which medication would not be used in the situation. She treated me in a peaceful and nonjudgmental manner. I look forward to my next appointment with her.
Very resourceful and helpful.
She was very professional, friendly and took her time with me.
Very good care and staff. Quite long waits, though that may be about par for a psych office.
Great doctor, knows what she's doing and listens to what I have to say. I am happy here.
Very informative and helpful!
She was warm, welcoming and professional. I would recommend her to anyone looking for quality care.
She's the best.
Do NOT go to this providers office. My appointment was scheduled for 2:45 and after waiting for 35 minutes they said it would take 30 more minutes for the doctor to see me. I asked for my co-pay back and left. While I was waiting another client had been waiting for one hour and 15 minutes. Another woman and her young daughter were waiting for 2 and a half hours....I'm sorry but this is unacceptable to me.
shes great if you want a 15 min in & out visit. I however need to talk more and figure out the best treatment for my adhd.
I appreciated her straightforwardness with how to approach treatment, and felt like she was much more invested in what I had to tell her than I had expected. She listened to my opinion on everything, and we came up with a medication guideline together that would not have me on any more than what was necessary. I really liked her, and hope to come back soon.
First visit but went very well. She actually listens and spoke to me, the parent, and listened as if I my input may matter and help.
Nice lady really appreciate the honesty and straightforwardness . thank you !
Canceled two of our first three appointments. Waited for 90 minutes after the second rescheduled appointment. Very curt bedside manner and didn't seem to be paying attention. Didn't remember anything between visits and repeated herself frequently. Found another doctor.
Very caring and knowledgable. Has helped me tremendously
Good physician and staff; longish wait times. Overall quite satisfied.
Doctor saw me late and spent less than fifteen minutes with me, asking the same exact questions I had answers on the new patient paperwork. Very unprofessional. This doctor is basically a pill dispensary. This has no bearing on her professional qualifications, but she's also using like a twenty year old glamor shots pic of herself on her profile!
The visit was satisfactory, but the wait was ridiculous. I'm glad I had nothing else scheduled that day, because I sat in the waiting room over an hour past when my appointment was scheduled.... AND I had arrived early.
The doctor listened to my situation and came up with a game plan to help.
She was really nice
Great doctor, I had transferred from on another dr in her practice and she took time to go over my file with me, asked about medications I was taken and if they seem to work for me. She asked how I felt and if I felt like my regimen seemed to be working for me. She took her time with me and added additional notes of her own to my file. I will be seeing her again in the future.
Dr. Mcnulty quickly came to my assistance and made the environment quite comfortable. She listened carefully to my concerns prior to her suggestions. Instantly did I feel at ease whereas with other therapists, it may take me some time to be comfortable. I truly enjoyed my visit.
I arrived a few minutes early and sat down to complete the "New Patient" paperwork. Shortly after that, I was called back (I was able to complete the paperwork in the lobby, after my session). Dr. McNulty was very professional and thorough. Paid attention, which I appreciated, since I am anxious about getting back on medications after being off for quite a while - she had good insight into our initial approach with the meds that made sense.
she was very brief. my first session with her was only 15 minutes. she didnt seem interested in what i was saying. was quick to diagnose me without educating me anout the side effects of the medicine.
It was a good visit overall. The only flaw I see is when I took the time to upload the check in information on ZocDocs, I was given a stack of paperwork to fill out. When I stated that, I was told that "it wasn't everything". However, the hand written paperwork was exactly the same. Dr. McNulty personally was a medical professional worth dealing with. She seems methodical and tries to grasp what you are trying to accomplish. I still don't know all the results but will follow up once they are in.
Arrived early for appointment with papers filled out. Staff was nice and courteous and location was relaxed and clean. Took only maybe a 15 minute wait and the doctor saw me. Was very professional and figured out a treatment plan in no time. Highly recommended.
Very efficient front office. Dr. McNulty listened to our concern and had a plan for treatment. Friendly and professional.
She didn't listen or try to get to know me. She was dismissive when I brought up legitimate concerns. It was like she just wanted to cycle through appointments as quickly as possible. And the cherry on top, I went to her broken and crying and I got an antidepressant and I'll see you in a month. Really? My GP could've done that! Horrible! I will not return!
She is your run-of-the-mill psychiatrist. I have had other doctors who did not listen to my concerns and what was most important to me in treatment plans, but she did. I also had an unexpected problem arise requiring a phone call and some advice and time on the phone. While some doctors may have placed judgement on my situation, she did not and gave me the best information she had and directed me to further sources, so I could make fully informed choices.
Wait times are awful. Both times I've been in it took over 30 minutes to see her. She's great though. Very quick, but thorough. Answered all my questions and helped me pick which medicine should work the best for me. I keep going because I really like her despite the wait times. If they continue to be this bad I might go to her nurse instead.
Very professional and direct.
I dont understand why a doctor has you will out all the form online only ask you the same questions when you get there. I was new client we spent most of 30 minutes on the forms i had filed out the dealing with the reson i was there.i was so upset but stayed becuse i really needed that prescription medication to help me. Then i was given an appointment for 1 month later to come back to see if meds where working. I said that i needed a therapist to help me deal with why i was there to begin with. She quickly said that she would give a referal to therapist when i check out up front. I paid for appointment and asked the front desk about the referal doctor wasgoing give and i got a brochure for group that offers therapist. Wow i thought all i was client but guess not i will never go back no matter howbad i need dr mMcNulty she should be in this profession she has no compation rude and i felt rushed and like some one that posted on here she never even introduced herself to me. If you really need help McNulty is not one for it.
I really appreciated Dr. McNulty's time and diagnosis. She is very supportive and understanding.
Dr. McNulty didn't introduce herself when she called me in for the appointment, so I didn't know that she was the doctor (and not a nurse) until I deduced it halfway through our appointment. She was professional and discussed various medication options, but that was it. She was there to prescribe something and not much more than that!
I have read the previous reviews about Dr. McNulty, and about how "compassionate" and wonderful she is. And while she is nice enough, I did not see any of the "compassion" or any of the many wonderful things written about her. While I am sure she is a nice person, I spent no more than 10-15 with her at any one of my three appointments. In my first meeting, never having been to a mental health professional before; I got into what brought me to where I am. I chose her because her profile says she specializes in PTSD and anxiety. I explained myself, and her response to me was the following; "I handle the management of medicine, if you need to speak and have a therapy session", then she would recommend a psychologist. I felt foolish after having laid it all out there; only to be told what medicine she would be recommending. My two subsequent visits were less than 10 minutes each, and that was only to make sure that I was satisfied with the meds prescribed to me. I do not know if she does not like men, or if she does not like veterans, or just did not like me; but I do know that my first visit to a mental health pro was absolutely embarrassing, and monumentally disappointing. I went in for help, not for drugs, unless absolutely necessary.
Good. I felt very comfortable for my first time visit.
She was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I will continue as a patient which is the highest compliment I could provide.
Good start for a first visit
I would recommended calling to schedule your appointment then calling again to confirm even if they call or email you a confirm and just to be on the safe side call the morning of to reconfirm. There seems to be some slight confusion about scheduling.
She was fantastic and has a great bedside manner. Would highly recommend!
I have never enjoyed seeing psychiatrists before because I have found them to be awkward, rude, and impatient. At the end of my appointment, I was very happy-- Dr. McNulty was none of these things! She listened to me talk and was very patient when I got off topic. I'm glad that I found her.
i thought she was a qualified professional woman working in earnest. i am pleased to have found her, and believe she can help me.
Dr.Darlene and her staff was very professional.
She was great. Her staff was less than professional and rude at times. I would recommend her but not at this Location.
I was impress with her professionalism. I was able to communicate with her. I would recommend her to other clients
Dr. McNulty is an absolutely incredible psychiatrist. After looking many months for a new doctor once my regular psychiatrist retired-5 doctors later I found this practice and was thoroughly impressed. My expectations were exceeded and not only did I feel personally care for I also respect the professionalism that goes into Dr McNulty's office.
Very knowledgable and very nice!
i left the doctor's office feeling a bit elated, as though i had met someone who could accept me and my problems, and who was willing to try to work with me and with them. it was refreshing and uplifting. i have another appointment for the first of next month.
She is very understanding. I'm very pleased with Dr. McNulty.
she was very professional
She answered all of my questions and helped me find the right medication to help with ADHD.
Very nice Dr and listens well without saying "and how does that make you feel?". We're trying something new and she sounded very positive.
Very personable and friendly!
Very friendly staff and comfortable office.
I've been seeing her once a month for 6 months now, and she is fantastic! Very nice and listens without interrupting. The office is very nice and clean, and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend her.
Great staff all around and very nice office. I'm glad I came here.
She was nice! The visit was too expensive for me without insurance.
I thought she was very professional and thorough. I will continue to go to see her.!
I was very happy with my appointment. I was nervous going in but she was nice, listened and asked appropriate questions. I am definitely going to continue to see her.
Very attentive!!!! Will refer people to her. She made me feel very comfortable
The Jonesboro office is the filthiest doctors office i have even stepped foot in. I was shocked by how unprofessional it was. I went for a psych appointment yet was worried about the cleanliness of the benches.
I was led to believe the physiatrist was going to talk to me more about my challenges but she seemed more interested in prescribing medicines for me rather than talk about what I came for.
I found her to be very professional, concerned about her patients and wanting to find the best solutions for my situation. Highly recommend.
I have been going to see her for three years. She is great. She will take the time to talk with you. I have been on a slew of medications but finally found the right combo. She is excellent.
I wasn't aware that she was only the medications manager. I was looking for someone to talk with for counseling. She was fine, just not the experience I was looking for.
She took up very little time with me. She never made eye contact. I was not given a dx. The meds she gave me were not working .I called office and was told I would need to be seen again the next week. That a long time when you have been dealing with depresion and anxiety for so long.
Great person however she is not an adult psychiatrist as is listed on zocdoc. She's happy to prescribe meds for your needs but has colleagues she can refer you to for psychotherapy. Beware of the Jonesboro office as it is extremely difficult to get through to them on the phone and their office isn't the nicest of offices I've seen..
She was very professional and straight to the point. Very nice but no fluff.
Dr. McNulty is wonderful. I prefer her office environment and staff in in her Sandy Springs office over Jonesboro. She is absolutely wonderful and would drive hours to see her if need be.
She's amazing they knowledgeable always on point I have seen her now for six months
I was very comfortable with the doctor. She listened carefully and was very thorough. I definitely recommend her.
She is very nice, easy to talk to. I like her.
My wait for my visit was long, but it was an insurance issue, and not the fault of the office. The receptionists were all very kind- they apologized several times and kept me apprised of the situation so I knew why I was waiting. I would definitely visit Dr. McNulty again. She was very kind and helpful!
it went very well
She is excellent.
Excellent, personable and well knowledged! 9/23/2013
Although I received several confirmations through ZocDoc confirming my appointment the office did not have me on the schedule. However, the first desk staff and Dr. McNulty made sure that I was seen even though I had to wait a little longer. The staff and doctor were very warm, friendly and professional and I would recommended anyone to this office and Dr McNaulty!
She was very personable and professional. I recommend her to anyone!
very professional and made sure all my needs were met concerning my child
Caring, very thorough, highly knowledgeable, and an excellent listening.
She was professional and very pleasant. Non-judgemental and was very straight forward and answered my questions!! Will drop my other psychiatrist and continue going to her.!
Very helpful and professional.
Mrs. McNulty was great!
