I earned my Master's in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Herzing University and hold an Associate's degree from Keiser University. What should a new client know about working with you?
My ideal client is looking for healthy coping strategies for managing stress, weight management, burnout, sleep issues, and ADHD symptoms, and is motivated to do the necessary work to regain control of their mental health. I also enjoy addressing relationship conflict, and men's mental health issues.

My clients have access to me after hours as life's stressors do not follow a 9-5 schedule.
Before booking please be advised that there is a no-show/late cancellation fee of $175 for initial visits & $95 for follow-up visits. (please give 48 hrs notice so others can be seen at your previously scheduled time) This will be collected via our EMR, Headway, Grow Therapy, or will be due before services begin if there is a no-show on file. There are no exceptions to this rule.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The intake process is a bit tedious, but necessary to ensure that the appointment is spent focusing on your concerns, instead of paperwork. For this reason, all consent forms and intake forms should be completed before the first visit. This provides a baseline of your current status and helps guide treatment in a specific and client-centric manner. (We understand that sometimes life gets in the way so if you are unable to complete your intake paperwork in advance, you can still be seen at your scheduled time)

Lorenzo is absolutely AMAZING. After feeling unheard by my previous doctor and not appreciating her approach to treating me I began seeking a new doctor for my case and I'm so lucky I just happened to choose D'arthana Lorenzo Burrell (He often goes by Lorenzo, so for me, Lorenzo)!
Lorenzo listens to understand, not to answer; I didn't have to repeat myself at all and he understood me thoroughly by asking questions. It didn't feel like a psychiatry appointment, it was like talking to an old friend. He's funny, intelligent, and believes in an approach where both he and his patients work together to come up with a solution to mental health concerns. My previous doc was "my way or the highway" type so to be so heard and my thoughts about treatment counted for was so refreshing! Lorenzo is not quick to play with meds, and he agrees that less is more!
So grateful I met him today, he is a breath of fresh air in the mental health field and a true gem. Book him, you'll be satisfied.

Lorenzo makes you feel seen and understood, point blank period. It's nice to have someone that not only allows you to be truly and fully honest, but makes it a point to emphasize and remind you that you're not alone in this journey. It feels like talking to another person, in a way you would with a close friend or loved one, instead of throwing technical jargon or boiling down your problems into medical buzzwords, as if the definition is the most important aspect of your personhood. Heard all my problems and gave accurate and sound advice to help me cope with the issues. Developed a plan that fell in line with my values and morals. I've been through my share of mental health providers, and I can't understand why none of them were as caring and kind as Lorenzo is. He speaks to me like a friend, like a human who truly cares and wants to figure out how he can help me. He takes my every concern into consideration and doesn't develop a treatment plan without my input. I had lost faith in psychiatric help until I had an episode so bad I could no longer go without care, and luck lead me here. For the first time in my life, I have a mental health provider who has made me feel better. I can't understate it. He's incredible.

When booking an appointment through Zocdoc, reviews are everything to me, and the reviews definitely did not steer me wrong this time! D'Arthana is very easy to communicate with. He listened to everything I told him and considered my opinions when creating my treatment plan. It is very obvious that he actually cares about his patients, and even goes out of his way to be available to them should they need it, regardless of the hour. I've had psychiatric offices provide a phone number to text the secretary of the office during business hours, but I've never been able to text with the psychiatrist themselves before. It makes everything extremely convenient, easy, and shows his commitment to his patients! I was having trouble with my insurance paying claims, and he even found a way to make sure I don't miss a visit and lapse on any medications while I sorted the insurance out! Amazing man and medical professional!

I would highly recommend this psychiatrist over any others you are considering. I have seen at least a dozen providers prior over the many years facing my mental hurdles and Dr. Burrell is the first to listen and prescribe what’s necessary based on my concerns and his analysis. If there was ever a person to feel like who would go to bat for you, it’s Dr Burrell.
Prior to seeing Dr Burrell my providers would prescribe medication that was ineffective or over prescribe to treat ailments that were nonexistent. With his impeccable memory and highly detailed observations I am finally able to treat my mental ailments and find a new footing in life.
