Dr. David Balyozian, MD

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
2211 Post St, 300, San Francisco, CA
My passion has always been to care for children. I began my journey at the College of the Holy Cross, where I studied physics. After graduating, I joined City Year Chicago, a nonprofit supporting at-risk youth, working as a mentor and tutor in classrooms and after-school programs. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where I fell in love with both pediatrics and psychiatry. This led me to pursue a pediatrics residency at the University of California San Diego, with a focus on adolescent medicine. During my time there, I discovered a deeper passion for understanding how the mind works and supporting children through social and emotional challenges. After completing my pediatrics residency, I transitioned to psychiatry training at the University of Southern California. I then completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay. At UCSF, I developed a strong interest in autism across the lifespan, as well as ADHD and school-age mental health care. After completing my training, I founded San Francisco Child Psychiatry to improve access to care for children and families who need it most. My background in both pediatrics and psychiatry allows me to provide unique, complex, compassionate, and individualized care that empowers young minds to thrive.
