About Dr. David Feldman

Dr. David Feldman is a well-known, thorough gastroenterologist treating patients in New York City. He balances patient care with educating medical students, believing that passing on his knowledge is an important obligation.
Dr. Feldman earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center. Having been on the faculty of a major medical center for many years and conducting further studies on important new medications for liver disease, Dr. Feldman has extensive expertise in treating liver conditions. He performs colonoscopy, polypectomy, upper endoscopy with and without dilation, capsule endoscopy, and manages patients before and after liver transplants.
As an extension of his care for patients with Hepatitis C, Dr. Feldman founded the Hepatitis C support group in his community. When he is not treating patients or training medical students, he enjoys running and spending time with his family.

Dr Feldman is a patient, thoughtful, kind doctor. Once again I came in with some anxious concerns that had sent me down an internet rabbit hole, and Dr Feldman walked me through my anxieties and explained everything clearly and plainly. For someone who is hypochondriac and suffers from OCD this kind of empathetic care is really invaluable!

Dr. Feldman is amazing. I'm a pretty severe hypochondriac, and have anxiety issues, so visiting the doctor can often be unpleasant. Dr. Feldman counseled me during our initial visits and performed an endoscopy, after which he very thoroughly went over all the findings and results. As I'm prone to do, I then went down a rabbit hole of my own internet 'research,' which caused a whole slew of new concerns on my part. During a follow-up appointment Dr. Feldman very graciously, thoroughly, and patiently addressed all my questions in a way that made me feel heard and appreciated. Unlike many doctors, he is not rushed or cursory, and during all of our appointments I've had the impression that he's fully present and focused on my own needs as the patient. I can't recommend this practice enough. Dr. Feldman's assistant is also very helpful, responsive, and kind. I'm very satisfied with this practice--and again, as someone with hypochondria and OCD, I'm quite selective when it comes to medical care (!).

I thought the doctor was great- it’s a shame though that his receptionist was exceedingly rude and unhelpful. I didn’t even go to my follow up and went to a new doctor bc I didn’t want to deal with her again, she was that unpleasant .

He was nice and good at what he does. However you have to go off site for blood work, and the office looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1960's a little off putting.

I waited 45 mins. The doc was completely unengaged with me. The office didn't contact me to get any previous records so he just spent time asking me questions about my health I don't know the answer to. Wasted my time.
