Getting to know Dr. David Gersten

I practice Integrative Psychiatry. A truly holistic or integrative approach addresses the mind, the body, and the mind-body connection. I utilize amino acid therapy and other nutrients for healing the body. For the mind, I use a number of psychotherapy modalities, including mental imagery, breath work, and meditation. I also utilize Polyvagal techniques for rebalancing the autonomic nervous system, which is important work when dealing with trauma and is usually helpful in alleviating anxiety and depression. My goal is to provide a safe, accepting, nonjudgmental space for healing and growth. I earned my Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed my residency in Psychiatry at the same institution, grounding my integrative practice in a strong medical foundation.
