Dr. Hashemi was extremely knowledgeable about my condition (Alopecia Areata) and throughly explained the possible causes and treatment plan for my case. Dr. David Hashemi is a Harvard-trained Dermatologist with experience in medical, cosmetic, and surgical Dermatology. He has trained at several of the most respected hospitals in the nation, having completed residency at the Harvard Combined program that includes Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. He completed his internship training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, medical school at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with the highest-possible class rank, and post-baccalaureate studies at Johns Hopkins University.
Prior to medicine, Dr. Hashemi served as an Engagement Manager in management consulting and Director of Corporate Strategy at a Fortune 500 entertainment company. He also holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a degree in Economics from the University of Chicago, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors. While in residency, he also worked as Entrepreneur in Residence at Gore Range Capital, a venture capital firm focused exclusively on Dermatology and skin health. He continues to remain interested in leveraging his background to help drive innovation in the field of Dermatology, and has significant experience with new technologies, clinical trials, and tools advancing the field.
Dr. Hashemi has and continues to work closely with multiple past presidents of the field’s leading bodies including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and American Society of Laser Surgery and Medicine. He has given multiple lectures and published numerous articles on medical, cosmetic, and surgical Dermatology in such influential journals as JAMA Dermatology, JAAD, and Dermatologic Surgery.
Outside of his busy schedule, Dr. Hashemi enjoys trying new restaurants, exercising in various forms, and traveling to new cities and countries.
