What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide evidence-based psychiatric care tailored to each person. Treatment may include comprehensive evaluations, thoughtful medication management, and supportive psychotherapy within my scope of practice. I commonly treat anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, and substance use disorders, with a focus on safe, structured, and long-term stability.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our approach is structured, collaborative, and designed to provide clarity from the very beginning—without feeling rushed. 1. Comprehensive Initial Evaluation We start with a detailed psychiatric evaluation where we take the time to understand your full story—not just your symptoms. This includes your mental health history, lifestyle, stressors (including work and financial pressures), sleep, and overall functioning. The goal is to identify root causes, not just surface-level concerns. 2. Clear Diagnosis & Personalized Plan Together, we develop a thoughtful, evidence-based treatment plan. This may include medication (when appropriate), therapy recommendations, and practical strategies tailored to your goals, lifestyle, and preferences. 3. Collaborative Medication Management (if indicated) If medication is part of your care, it is prescribed carefully and intentionally. We prioritize effectiveness, minimize unnecessary medications, and continuously reassess to ensure the treatment remains appropriate and beneficial. 4. Ongoing Follow-Up & Adjustment Follow-up sessions are structured and purposeful. We track progress, make adjustments as needed, and address new or evolving concerns. Care is never static—it evolves with you. 5. Integrated & Trauma-Informed Care Our approach incorporates trauma-informed principles and may include EMDR-informed strategies, as well as attention to factors like chronic stress, burnout, and financial strain that often impact mental health. Our philosophy: Care should never feel rushed or transactional. We focus on building a clear, sustainable path toward stability, insight, and long-term well-being.

Insurance, Payment, and Billing At Therapy & Mind, we are a private-pay practice. This allows us to provide care that is thoughtful, individualized, and not restricted by the limitations often imposed by insurance companies. Why do we not bill insurance directly While insurance can be helpful, it often creates barriers to high-quality mental health care, including: Limited appointment times that may feel rushed Restrictions on treatment options and clinical decision-making Mandatory psychiatric diagnoses required for coverage Administrative requirements that can delay or disrupt care Our model is designed to prioritize your care—not insurance policies, allowing for deeper evaluations, personalized treatment, and greater clinical flexibility. Payment Process Payment is collected at the time of service through a secure, HIPAA-compliant system We accept major credit and debit cards Transparent, upfront pricing is provided—no surprise billing Flexible Payment Options We understand that investing in mental health care is significant. To help reduce financial barriers, we accept CareCredit, a healthcare financing option that may allow you to: Pay over time with flexible monthly plans Access care without delaying treatment Choose a plan that fits your financial situation (Approval and terms are determined by CareCredit.) Using Your Insurance (Out-of-Network Benefits) Although we do not bill insurance directly, we support you in utilizing your out-of-network benefits: A superbill can be provided after each visit You may submit this to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement Reimbursement depends on your individual plan We recommend contacting your insurance company to ask about: Out-of-network mental health coverage Deductibles and reimbursement rates Claim submission requirements Our Commitment to You Our goal is to remove the constraints that often compromise care, so we can focus on what matters most—delivering high-quality, evidence-based psych
